Does he ever do bad work? (I'll bet, but I've never seen any of it.)
And not counting American Gothic, The Brady Bunch movies, Office Space, and Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law, what do I still need to see?

I first saw him in Fatal Vision and that Midnight Caller series back in the eighties -- liked his work in both spots, actually, but it seems he has stepped up to the plate more since...

Sheriff Buck is one of my favorite fictional characters from any media, and possibly my favorite villain. Cole absolutely pushes the Brady Bunch movies from "maybe better than the other TV show movies" to "possibly infinitely rewatchable." Man, he needs to be on a drama series again that really pushes him the way American Gothic did.

He's got some great scenes in One Hour Photo, he's the best thing about the I Spy remake movie, and Santa Fe was pretty damn good, too.

Yeah, I knew about Midnight Caller, strong but unexciting work. But I completely never realized that was him in Fatal Vision!!!

I was only what, 13 when it came out and I saw it, but I really enjoyed him in it, regardless of the typical miniseries trappings/cinematography of its time. He really did play someone very, very creepy while being seemingly most normal.

Santa Fe came out sometime in the ... wake, I guess, of Waco, the comet guys, all the various cults that had been in the news -- Cole plays a former cult member who moves back home after surviving a mass suicide (or all-but-one-icide, you know). It's been a few years, so I don't remember much more beyond him being really, really good in it.
