y'know, Rebel Inc, Clocktower, all the Pulp Faction stuff, etc. just become aware of them - what was yr reactions to them at the time, if you had them? how did the success of Irvine Welsh affect their status/yr apprehension of it? what's going on today? what did they achieve?

(been reading Repetitive Beat Generation & the quasi-related Disco 2000, just picked up Children Of Albion Rovers & Morvern Callar 2ndhand; looks like I'm going to have to import a lot of this stuff to NZ).

(er, picked up Disco Biscuits not Disco 2000, though)

as a "movement"/etc, this seems a lot more successful (& probably interesting) than, say, McSweeneys (k-annoying) or the whole avant-pop thing Larry McAffrey was pimping.
