Well?

Can you still do this? Should I send a telegram now before it's too late? Do they still do singing telegrams? If so, can you send someone a telegram containing the lyrics to a Journey song?

Inquired about it once. Very expensive, surprisingly.
Singing telegrams probably less so.

I did it once to a rock star I was trying to kiss up to, no idea if he ever received it as I was too shy to mention it when I finally met him. I think it was $20. They do not do singing telegrams.

Thanks. $20 is pretty steep, but I'm sure it'll make someone's day.

really, only $20?
hmmm, maybe it's more in Canada because of, uh, NAFTA or something. That doesn't make any sense. Singing telegrams are usually nor REAL telegrams, just glee club drop outs hustling for a buck. You can usually find 'em in the yellow pages under Entertainers. Or possibly Dorks.

I got two telegrams last week, one from the water company, one from the gas company, telling me to phone them urgently before they take me to court. Utility companies send telegrams quite frequently (to me, at least).

I don't know if this is disturbing or not:

Another question stop When someone recieves a telegram do they still write it without punctuation stop

Dale the Titled (cprek), Wednesday, 13 August 2003 17:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

wouldn't that be: "write it without punctuation question mark"

My father received a telegram informing him of his father's death quite a few decades ago. He taped it onto a piece of paper (the telegram was two pages long, so it took up the whole page) and saved it for posterity's sake. We still have it in a file somewhere in our file cabinet, probably just under Dad's name.

Aside from that, I cannot recall ever having received or sent a telegram.

I received a telegram when I was living in Italy. I thought it was something monumentally serious but actually it was just telling me that I had registered at the university. Seemed a bit of a waste of money on their part.

"ever"? yes i have. received as well as sent. but i think the last time was at least 5 or 6 years ago. and as of now, i don't actually know what it costs to send a t'gram in my country - but i've been told it's "bloody expensive".
