you're like the kid who got mad at the controller when he died in a video game, aren't you?

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Friday, 15 August 2003 21:45 (twenty-two years ago)

this is the story of my life ... inanimate objects should WORK, and when they don't i get very angry.

Tad (llamasfur), Friday, 15 August 2003 21:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Classic. i have this problem too... I get so pissed when inanimate objects don't work like I want them to. i sometimes feel like i could kill them if they weren't inanimate.

When I was little, like 6-10, at least once a week I would totally get into serious fights with my 2 older brothers (larry and jerry). And for some reason my weapon of choice was always the remote control, which they were always in control of, making me watch Porky's and My Chauffer. I must have destroyed that thing about 12 times throwing it. I am super good at putting them together now.

I get pissed when i have to drive with my knee in order to light a cigarette. Rather than just rolling up the windows.

Actually, I rarely do this, but shit just came to a head today. I was the guy who pointed and laughed at the kid who got mad at the video game controller, esp when that 'kid' was my college roommate.

oops (Oops), Friday, 15 August 2003 22:16 (twenty-two years ago)

where's that pic of the guy smacking his computer monitor till he knocks it over?

Tad (llamasfur), Friday, 15 August 2003 22:18 (twenty-two years ago)

I am that scene in Office Space. Except I don't discrimihate, I got mad violent destructive urges for all kinds of stuff: the fax machine, my 4-track (I kicked it once when I was hella drunk), my refuses-to-stay-in-tune-for-20-minutes guitar, the return key on my computer when it locks up, et friggin cetera.

Does a computer count? I kind of think it doesn't, as it absorbs all YOUR personalities...

"Oh Diablo Canyon #1, why can't you be more like Diablo Canyon #2?"

Kingfish (Kingfish), Saturday, 16 August 2003 16:39 (twenty-two years ago)

oh man, I just broke the freezer door on the little fridge in my apartment. the previous tenant never defrosted it, so I finally did, only to discover the six pounds of frost were all that insulated the freezer part. For several weeks I had to carefully and patiently set it in just the right place or the food would all freeze.

I finally got tired of this last night cause it wasn't working & so I got pissed off & took the little door, tried to break it, then threw it across the room. oops!

My espresso machine at work has a habit of exploding if you don't pull the handles hard enough and tonight I was witness to the entertaining sight of my second barman attacking it in a rage after he'd covered himself in coffee grounds.

Matt (Matt), Saturday, 16 August 2003 23:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I have raged at the bags of coffee we sell cuz we have to grind them and they are insanely difficult to open. I sliced my hand open trying to cut one open with a knife. Pandemonium ensued.

jewelly (jewelly), Saturday, 16 August 2003 23:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, those foil packs of beans? Yeah, they're bastards.

Matt (Matt), Saturday, 16 August 2003 23:45 (twenty-two years ago)

These are even worse than foil. It's like some kind of wrapping that I think the company must get exclusively from NASA or something.

jewelly (jewelly), Saturday, 16 August 2003 23:47 (twenty-two years ago)

soo, oops has a [or some pieces of a] drumkit, eh?

very cool.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 16 August 2003 23:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Like this super dense plasticky metal type deal? I know your pain.

Matt (Matt), Saturday, 16 August 2003 23:53 (twenty-two years ago)

classic! i've bloodied myself battling inanimate objects.
maybe i should see someone about this....

lolita corpus (lolitacorpus), Sunday, 17 August 2003 03:47 (twenty-two years ago)

No. Only worry when you start killing small animals.
