This is the thread when we say how much BOUZE we have at home right now

OK, the bartender's just called "time" and it's suggested that everyone heads round to yours for an impromptu party. How much alcohol have you got to offer them?

MarkH (MarkH), Monday, 18 August 2003 06:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Right now I have just

5 bottles of red wine
1 bottle of mead

MarkH (MarkH), Monday, 18 August 2003 06:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Nothing. I don't store booze, I drink it.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 18 August 2003 06:51 (twenty-two years ago)

We've got loads, but not as much as we have had, so it's time for a day trip to Calais again. We've got about 30 bottles of wine, 2 bottles of plain vodka, 3 bottles of various flavoured vodka, + 1 bottle of bison grass vodka in the freezer, an inch of gin and 2 inches of kaluah, 1 small bottle of dark rum, 1 tiny bottle of ouzo, a little bit of thai rum, 3/4 bottle of white port, about 3 bottles of usual port (including 1 1981 bottle, which probably needs drinking), and about 6 bottles of whisky. but we've only got 3 bottles of beer. (actually, we only need to get beer and a couple of bottles of spirits, so maybe a trip to Costco will do it)

(Vicky), Monday, 18 August 2003 07:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I was going to say it makes us look like right alcoholics, but then we wouldn't have any bouze in the house.

Vicky (Vicky), Monday, 18 August 2003 07:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Maybe that's only a third of what you had two days ago?

Mooro (Mooro), Monday, 18 August 2003 07:22 (twenty-two years ago)

until last week I also had quite a few bottles of Chimay Bleu, but they're all gone now. Incidentally, this is the only type of beer that I seem incapable of pouring properly and yes, I know it's supposed to be served in a rounded glass not a straight one, and yes, I know it's supposed to have a big head on it.

MarkH (MarkH), Monday, 18 August 2003 07:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I have 3 shoulders of vodka in my wardrobe and a crate of disgusting smithwicks in the garage, I drank some of the smithwicks on Saturday and it was horrible. If we count robbing alcohol from my parents then the world is my oyster I suppos.e

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 18 August 2003 07:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Three bottles of gin -- Tanqueray Malacca, Tanqueray, and Bombay Sapphire
Sauza Tres Generaciones tequila
One jar of strawberry tequila bounce
Limoncello
Sweet vermouth
Dry vermouth
Mezcal
Benedictine
Triple Sec
Applejack
A couple bottles of Pinot Grigio, a bottle of Louisiana blueberry wine
The girlfriend's beers. Guinness and some local microbrew, I think.

Tep (ktepi), Monday, 18 August 2003 07:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh wait, and the port. I don't remember if it's the ruby or the white we have left.

Hrm. I'm out of cream liqueurs and Canton! I must not have replaced those when I moved.

Tep (ktepi), Monday, 18 August 2003 07:43 (twenty-two years ago)

i own this thread! roughly 60 bottles of wine, a few bottles of beer, 4 bottles of gin, one vodka (we've been hitting that lately), some cranberry vodka, whiskey, apricot brandy, brandy, cognac, creme de cacao, 2 bottles of kahlua, two kinds of rum, cachaca, port, cointreau, bourbon. probably some more things too.

toby (tsg20), Monday, 18 August 2003 07:54 (twenty-two years ago)

let's all go to tep's!

nnnh oh oh nnnh nnnh oh (James Blount), Monday, 18 August 2003 07:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Just been to France Toby?!

Vicky (Vicky), Monday, 18 August 2003 08:00 (twenty-two years ago)

None.

Archel (Archel), Monday, 18 August 2003 08:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh wait, half a bottle of Pimms.

Archel (Archel), Monday, 18 August 2003 08:04 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah but only on ryanair! prob half the wine is from france, and half of that is keeping for special occasions. most of the rest is waitrose cuvee chasseur 2002, which is our everyday drinking wine - at £2.99 a bottle it's a miracle. we order loads from ocado and get them to deliver it, and all the delivery men think we're alcoholics...

toby (tsg20), Monday, 18 August 2003 08:11 (twenty-two years ago)

hmmm. may have to try some of that.

We come back from France with silly amounts of booze, but hey, the more you spend, the more you save!

chris (chris), Monday, 18 August 2003 08:14 (twenty-two years ago)

i would quite like to be the sort of person who has booze stored at home but it has never happened that way, it has been over 3 years since i have lived within walking distance of a decent booze stockists too:(

gareth (gareth), Monday, 18 August 2003 08:17 (twenty-two years ago)

At the moment we have about 6ish beers, 3 bottles of red wine, 2 bottles of white wine, half a bottle of courvoisier (sp??) & some archers aqua (for some reason) so not a bad lot. i think we might have some vodka aswell.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 18 August 2003 08:19 (twenty-two years ago)

booze is way too expensive here - all i have in the fridge is three beers and a smidgen of Finlandia left in the bottom of the bottle. Thailand here I come, with your marvelous duty free...

(Ronan you have your own alcohol separate from the parental stock? this seems contrary to the whole spirit of the parent-young-person relationship)

Dave M. (rotten03), Monday, 18 August 2003 08:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Need more bouze.

Archel (Archel), Monday, 18 August 2003 08:25 (twenty-two years ago)

None whatsoever, every single ounce of alcohol we had mysteriously disappeard this Saturday at our 10 hour long crayfish party. (There might be some in the carpets though.)

Hanna (Hanna), Monday, 18 August 2003 08:28 (twenty-two years ago)

If everybody on this thread came back to my house and finished off all the drink, we'd probably all end up in comas.

j0e (j0e), Monday, 18 August 2003 08:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Dave M, make Sang Som and Sang Thip your friends, on a trip to ruin. And make sure you try the industrial strength red bull, that'll get you there faster.

chris (chris), Monday, 18 August 2003 08:32 (twenty-two years ago)

how so Dave? haha do you mean I should be only thieving?

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 18 August 2003 08:33 (twenty-two years ago)

YES (to both of you)

Dave M. (rotten03), Monday, 18 August 2003 08:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Gareth, but you do live within walking distance of several good offies! Try:

Flaneur (as long as you're not buying smoked venison or deli whatnots you're not looking at expensive prices there)
Lamb's Conduit Street wine shop (plus other offies on that road)
The Italian grocer next door with not just wine but hella spirits.
The offie in Leather Lane
The offies in Gray's Inn Road
Betty's do that groovy Polish beer you and Ed like.
There's a good offie on Theobald's Road too.

Right now we have a fraction of a bottle of coffee liqueur, a fraction of a bottle of very good whisky and some evil peach wine cooler won in the Italian festival bottle raffle. Yucch. But there is a trip to France looming so restocking will happen. There is also some nice wine in storage.

suzy (suzy), Monday, 18 August 2003 08:34 (twenty-two years ago)

tiny bit of Laphroaig single malt
tiny bit of Jameson whisky
tiny bit of Bombay Sapphire gin
quarter bottle of inferior gin (Cork Dry i think)
half bottle of Absolut vodka (in freezer)
almost-full small bottle of Archers peach schnapps
almost-full bottle of Dutch genever
almost-full bottle of Lebanese arak
unopened bottle of PORT
just over half-full bottle of cheapo red wine (will have some with tonight's dinner)

wahey!

rener (rener), Monday, 18 August 2003 08:39 (twenty-two years ago)

wow you have arak rener. I love arak, but have nver bought it for home consumption, only at Lebanese restaurants and from a Lebanese guy at uni.

MarkH (MarkH), Monday, 18 August 2003 09:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Unless my mood changes significantly we will have much less alcohol in our house this time tomorrow....

Vicky (Vicky), Monday, 18 August 2003 09:03 (twenty-two years ago)

1/4 of a bottle of port and a bottle of rioja.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 18 August 2003 09:11 (twenty-two years ago)

party at toby's place tonite everybody!!

all i have is a bottle of scotch

geeta (geeta), Monday, 18 August 2003 09:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Mark, we got it when we went to Lebanon last year, it does indeed RoXoR. However, as is the way with holiday drinks, it just doesn't taste as good if you're drinking it in your manky flat with the rain bashing against the window as it does under a starry mediterranean sky with the smell of jasmine in the air (or car exhausts if it's the centre of Beirut).

rener (rener), Monday, 18 August 2003 09:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I just bought a new bottle of scotch on Saturday so:

full bottle of single malt whisky
5 bottles of Pilsner Urquell in the fridge
a small amount of Maker's Mark whisky that I've not touched in ages
a bottle of white wine in the fridge
a bottle of Champagne in the fridge
a bottle of red wine
about one glass-worth of red wine in a small bottle
there might be an barely-touched bottle of vodka somewhere

James Ball (James Ball), Monday, 18 August 2003 09:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I learnt that wine cooler = alcopop on Saturday evening.

MarkH (MarkH), Monday, 18 August 2003 09:33 (twenty-two years ago)

i have:

1 bottle of tanqueray gin
1 bottle of absolut vodka
1 bottle smirnoff blueberry vodka
1 bottle of crown royal whisky
1 bottle dalwhinnie single malt whisky
1 bottle pitu cachacha (sp.? for making caipirinhas)
1 bottle cheap sherry (for cooking)
1 bottle of drambuie (mainly for marinating fruit in)
3 bottles good red rioja, 1 bottle decent burgundy, 1 bottle lovely aussie shiraz, half bottle of really shite bulgarian red (for cooking)
2 bottles good chablis, 2 bottles good white rioja
4 cans of grolsch
2 cans of guinness
1 can of london pride bitter
a bunch of miscellaneous and probably quite undrinkable beer people left for me by my landlord when i moved in

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Monday, 18 August 2003 09:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I want to live with Dave.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 18 August 2003 09:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Let me think:

1/2 a bottle of campari
4 bottles of single malt whisky (Scapa, Glenfiddich, Laphroaig, Campbeltown) in various states of drunkness
1 bottle of white rum
1 half bottle of Cognac
1 small measure remaining of delicious Armagnac
1 bottle mandarin liquer
1/2 a bottle of Grenadine
1/2 a bottle of the apple equivalent of Limoncello
1 bottle of grappa
1 bottle of Genepi
i bottle of Korean equivalent of the above
I bottle Baileys substitute
1 bottle Archers substitute
3 bottles of white wine (Wolf Blass Chardonnay)
7 bottles of red wine. at least 3 of which are for laying down

I have no Angostura, no tequila, no beer, no vodka, and, I discovered recently, no gin. Which needs to be rectified.

Mark C (Mark C), Monday, 18 August 2003 09:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Vic missed off our Cachaca and our bitters (which are now essential in gin and tonics)

chris (chris), Monday, 18 August 2003 09:54 (twenty-two years ago)

people will talk nick. however, a lot will go soon as have people over for dinner three nights this week...

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Monday, 18 August 2003 09:56 (twenty-two years ago)

12 or so bottles of beer of varying quality.
1 bottle red wine
1 bottle of port
1/4 bottle of evil creem sherry
1/10 bottle of scotch

fletrejet, Monday, 18 August 2003 10:10 (twenty-two years ago)

I also missed the apple stuff, a bottle of cassis, a bottle of Mure (like cassis but made of blackberries), a tiny bit of amaretto, some wierd alpine herby thing (from Mark C)... I think that's it.

Wine varies from what's left of the george dubouef (spelling, I know) case of all the different beaujoulais, a couple of bottles of gorgeous Chablis, couple of bottles of champagne, couple of argentinian sparkling chardonnay, Wolf blass Chardonnay, some fruity cabernet merlot (£1.99 from Beer and wine calais!) pinot grigio, and standard australien cabernet/shiraz and chardonnay, and leftovers from virgin wine boxes.

Vicky (Vicky), Monday, 18 August 2003 10:15 (twenty-two years ago)

1 bottle of red wine

3/4 of a bottle of vodka

1 bottle of dry vermouth

leigh (leigh), Monday, 18 August 2003 10:30 (twenty-two years ago)

9 cans of Coca Cola.

David. (Cozen), Monday, 18 August 2003 10:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Not all round to Cozens then. Only if you need mixers! ;-)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 18 August 2003 10:38 (twenty-two years ago)

You're not invited.

David. (Cozen), Monday, 18 August 2003 10:42 (twenty-two years ago)

About eight-dozen bottles of wine and assorted spirits. I'd be most likely to drink the fifth of Smirnoff Blue I keep beside the bed.

Andrew (enneff), Monday, 18 August 2003 10:43 (twenty-two years ago)

How much is a fifth of booze anyway? Is it standard spirit bottle size ie 70cl?

Ricardo (RickyT), Monday, 18 August 2003 10:54 (twenty-two years ago)

cozen, why do you have 9 cans of coca cola? for some reason this has made me laugh a lot...

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Monday, 18 August 2003 11:14 (twenty-two years ago)

i had 12 cans of Vanilla Coke the other day - only one remains (it goes well with bourbon)

stevem (blueski), Monday, 18 August 2003 11:16 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll trade some Limoncello or vermouth for Cachaca. (I'll take a photograph of the vermouth so I can still make martinis.)

Tep (ktepi), Monday, 18 August 2003 14:10 (twenty-two years ago)

4 or 5 bottles of beer.
1 bottle cheap white wine and 1 bottle cheap red wine, both unopened.
1 bottle cheap (but authentic) Champagne; 1 bottle French sparkling wine (both unopened).
1 bottle Pernod (unopened; supposedly I plan to add some wormwood extract to this to make "absinthe").
1 bottle tequila; 1 small bottle triple sec (unopened; for whatever reason I haven't had a margarita yet this summer).
1 unopened bottle of creme de menthe.
1 half-empty bottle of rum.
1 half-empty bottle of vodka.
1 one-third empty bottle of sherry.
1 half-empty bottle of cassis (very nice in lemonade).
1 near-empty bottle of hazelnut liquor.
1 recently opened bottle of vermouth; 1 recently opened bottle of gin (I still don't like martinis, but have been giving them another try).
1 one-quarter empty bottle of grappa.
1 nearly full bottle of applejack (stupid me thought this would be reasonably close to calvados).
3 or 4 airplane-size bottles of bourbon and canadian whiskey, which I bought years ago to try and have yet to taste.

Mixers on hand: diet Coke, ginger ale, orange juice, key lime juice, frozen strawberries (for daiquiris and margaritas).

j.lu (j.lu), Monday, 18 August 2003 16:33 (twenty-two years ago)

1 750 of Crown Royal
1 bottle of Fat Bastard chardonnay

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Monday, 18 August 2003 16:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Wow -- before I typed up this list I didn't realize just how much I have on hand! Drinks at my place, everyone?

j.lu (j.lu), Monday, 18 August 2003 16:38 (twenty-two years ago)

One bottle of white wine. I'm not much of a drinker.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 18 August 2003 19:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Seven or eight bottles of various Spanish and Australian red wines
Three bottles of white wine in wine rack
One half-finished bottle of pinot grigio in the fridge
about half a bottle of Drambuie
same of Southern Comfort
and of Tia Taria
and of Cointreau
and of Baileys
and of cheap Spanish brandy
half a dozen cans of Carling
Two bottles of champagne (still waiting for a decent occasion)
Lots of little tequila miniatures my boss brought me from Mexico last year
Some orange liqueur stuff from Spain that's really nice with ice cream

And that's about it.

Despite all this bouze, I am currently drinking hot chocolate with whipped cream.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 18 August 2003 21:42 (twenty-two years ago)

There's alcohol in the house, but it's not mine.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 18 August 2003 21:45 (twenty-two years ago)

none.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Monday, 18 August 2003 22:57 (twenty-two years ago)

I got some 151 for some reason.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 18 August 2003 23:21 (twenty-two years ago)

like 25 cans of PBR and I think 250ml of Skyy left over from over a month ago

Millar (Millar), Monday, 18 August 2003 23:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Heartbreakingly my once mighty wine rack is sorely sorely depleted as currently stands (I have been lacking funds for replacements) HOWEVER many mixed cases from suppliers are winging their way to casa coastaltown in the next few weeks and thus the situation should improve dramtically. I am also making a conscious effort to increase my cocktail potential with the introduction of interesting spirits, which may or may not include all the ingredients for a perfect Singapore Sling.

Matt (Matt), Monday, 18 August 2003 23:31 (twenty-two years ago)

A few things - miscellaneous wines (a Reisling, a blush, cranberry wine, baco noir, ice wine, a local vinyard's red dessert wine), Harvey's Bristol Cream Sherry, some Kahlua, Johnnie Walker Black Label, Drambuie, Bailey's Irish Cream, a small bottle of Henkell Trocken, and assorted minis of Grenadian rum and Jack Daniels. This is all mostly the stuff that I don't drink.

Kim (Kim), Monday, 18 August 2003 23:47 (twenty-two years ago)

one-third bottle of Black Bush
half a bottle of Old Whiskey River Bourbon (it came with a Willie Nelson guitar pick! also it was free from Willie's record label; I don't know why they didn't just send some good weed.)
unopened mini-bottle of Maker's Mark (also a free promo item)
2 bottles Lone Star Beer (Sam, this is the rox0r!)
one can Stag Beer
a tiny bit of triple sec maybe

We recently signed Tanqueray as a client and they said they were going to send us free booze but it hasn't shown up yet, damn it. I was really looking forward to martinis.

I usually have wine but also I usually drink it pretty quickly.

Oh also 1/2 bottle of Nyquil.

teeny (teeny), Monday, 18 August 2003 23:52 (twenty-two years ago)

okay one less bottle of lone star.

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 00:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I agree with Archel - there's a need for some serious redistribution here!

MarkH (MarkH), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 06:50 (twenty-two years ago)

10 Lone Stars
1 bottle red wine
1 bottle white wine
1 half-bottle Aberlour Highland Scotch Whiskey (aged 10 yrs)
I quarter bottle Monopolova vodka in the freezer

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 06:55 (twenty-two years ago)

1 bottle of Southern Comfort
1 bottle Canadian Club Rye
1 bottle Gibbons Wiskey's - for camping
1 bottle Galiano - not to sure why.
And Various other can not remember.

danielle g. (danielle g.), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 06:59 (twenty-two years ago)

one month passes...
Do you all hate Bailey's?

David. (Cozen), Wednesday, 24 September 2003 21:24 (twenty-two years ago)

There is no reason to do otherwise.

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 24 September 2003 21:32 (twenty-two years ago)

I LOVE Bailey's! (If I didn't have any at the time of my post, it's because I had to use up or give away cream liqueurs in the process of moving here. I only just recently replenished the alcohol supply).

Those miniature single-serving ones they have now, though? I should've asked how much they cost (they weren't marked) -- 4 100-ml bottles cost more than the 750ml bottle I was originally going to get. (I got the individual servings because I have long days on Tuesdays and Thursdays and figured I could slip one into my coffee. Or Pepsi. Or whatever.)

Also good: Dooley's (toffee liqueur), Hot Sex (chocolate + ginger + ginseng, although you don't notice the ginseng), and this company I forget the name of that does Cookie Dough (good on ice cream or in shots), Creme Brulee, and Thin Mint (not very good, the mint tastes like Scope).

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 24 September 2003 21:34 (twenty-two years ago)

All mint-flavord alcohol tastes like Scope!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 24 September 2003 21:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, but it's weirder and somehow more off-putting when it's Scope which would otherwise taste and have the texture of Bailey's mixed with Hershey's syrup.

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 24 September 2003 21:36 (twenty-two years ago)

I just bought more brandy! hurray for me

s1utsky (slutsky), Wednesday, 24 September 2003 21:39 (twenty-two years ago)

One bottle each of:
Patron Silver,
Jose Cuervo 1800,
Skyy vodka,
Absolut Citron,
Absolut Vanilia,
Jack Daniels (one full, one half-full),
Bombay Sapphire,
Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum,
Bacardi Silver,
several airplane size bottles of Bailey's, a couple of Cuervo Gold, Buttershots,
Sour Grape Pucker,
Sour Apple Pucker,
and three bottles of some wine-y sangria thing.

Plus a 12 pack of Heineken, 4 bottle of Corona, a 6 pack of Rolling Rock and two Zimas that someone left behind that I will never drink.

Party at my house!

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 24 September 2003 22:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Toby has significantly less booze now, especially after my two night attack on the apricot brandy.

Anna (Anna), Thursday, 25 September 2003 10:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I have a three-quarters empty bottle of wine that no one has bothered to throw away, and a nearly-full bottle of fenny that people are too afeared to touch even in the darkest throes of Saturday latenight drunken mentalism. And a Sidekick.

It's a meagre haul, it must be said.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 25 September 2003 10:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Why do people hate Bailey's? I get the impression both Tom and Pete hate it.

David. (Cozen), Thursday, 25 September 2003 10:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Hating Baileys is like hating Top 40. It is a) alcoholic and b) tastes like chocolate. How is that not the best thing ever (provided you limit yourself to one glass, after which it becomes utterly sickly and revolting as all choccy products do).

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 25 September 2003 10:23 (twenty-two years ago)

half a bottle bombay sapphire gin
half a bottle crown royal whisky
1 bottle bowmore cask-strength single malt

bottle of Chasse du Pape
1/2 bottle white cooking wine

Sam (chirombo), Thursday, 25 September 2003 12:32 (twenty-two years ago)

bottle each of:

Knob Creek
Oban Single Malt (A gift, way too rich to buy for myself)
Germain-Robin Brandy (also hella-expensive, but since it's for sippin' it goes a loong way)

about a case of miscellaneous beer.

a couple of gallons of homebrew porter that's probably well past its sell-by date, sadly.

Sasha Voynow (svizz), Thursday, 25 September 2003 13:42 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm afraid I just don't like Baileys. Never have, never will. Cramy acohol seems weird and wrong to me somehow.

Matt (Matt), Thursday, 25 September 2003 21:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Creamy, even.

Matt (Matt), Thursday, 25 September 2003 21:41 (twenty-two years ago)

5 bottles of 100-proof Jamaican rum (which I could never drink);
O'Mara's Irish Cream: delicious over the rocks

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Thursday, 25 September 2003 21:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Basic stuff:
-Kaluha
-Grand Marnier
-Bailey's
-several ports
-Madeira
-some sort of raspberry liquor
-case of Vitner's Red
-case of the best white zin
-case of Alliataco
AND
-a refrigerator literally overflowing with alcoholic drinks, primarily beer and wine.

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Friday, 26 September 2003 09:35 (twenty-two years ago)

And you still have trouble sleeping Luna??? ;-)
I like baileys actually. Has anyone tried the new Baileys 'Glide' (I think it is)? It's really nice.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 26 September 2003 09:41 (twenty-two years ago)

We have a big bottle of rum. I opened it one night when I was alone. Drank too much. Posted silly things on ILX. I woke up the next day with a hangover. I never drank alone ever again. Oh we also have two Jupiler beers which someone left. We rarely if ever drink alcohol.

Is that a Lindemann's lambic in the bottom left?

Tep (ktepi), Friday, 26 September 2003 16:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Okay I'm feeling wasted just looking at a picture on the internet of that much alcohol, wow.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 26 September 2003 17:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh shit I think I see a couple Sammy Smiffs!! Those are the best beer, fo shizzle.

Hmmm. I should know better than to post pictures in the middle of the night. Yes on the Sam Smiths, don't know on the Lindemann's lambic (and too lazy to go and look right now), and I've no idea where the Gatorade came from. The same for the grape Crush.

Laura don't forget that grape Crush is a nice mixer with vodka.

I am glad to see your booze fridge looks like ours. The greatest thing ever is when you move to a new house and the previous owner leaves behind a fridge. You move that fucker in the garage and voila, your beer and wine and vodka is always cold.

We have loads of booze in our house but generally it's for show. Seems like we only booze it up properly when we leave the house.

*laughing* I've never done the grape Crush/vodka mixer thingy, Don, but one of my first 'Oh, Crap. I shouldn't have drunk that and then rode in the back seat of a Jeep speeding up and down mountian roads' incidents involved grape Kool-Aid and Everclear. Since then I have avoided all of the faux-grape drinks. *body shuddering and stomach upheaving at the memory*

And yes, the fridge in the garage used to be in the kitchen, but it's a piece of crap and so we moved it out there for the alcohol storage theme. I actually think the damn thing needs to be emptied ... lots of the stuff in the back of the shelves cannot be identified as having been purchased in the last three years. That is not auspicious, I don't think.

We don't drink much either. I'm about two beers a week and Glenn's about three glasses of wine a week and David's about one glass of wine and two or three beers a week. So we just buy stuff and put it in the fridge and look at it.

I never imagined adulthood would be this monotonous.
