Chartered Sport Fishing: C/D

I spent a good chunk of the past weekend fishing for trout and salmon on Lake Michigan with my dad. It was fantastic, largely because we barely had to do any work; someone else set up the lines, hooked the fish, clubbed them and cleaned them, so all we had to do was reel them in and pose for the picture.

ALL FISHING SHOULD BE LIKE THIS. Even creek fishing behind your house would be much improved by someone else actually doing most of it for you.

You're insane. Insane and wrong.

it's pretty fun although I never keep the fish. I went fishing off Sanibel Island in Florida last Thanksgiving - it was way better than sitting around watching football.

Insane and wrong meaning that pinging for fish on a boat with drunkards is no way to fish.

nobody was drunk on my boat as we started at 8 in the morning.

No one was drunk on my boat, either. We consumed water and Dr. Pepper, partially because of the underage kid but mostly because my dad and I had to hop in the car and drive back to MN as soon as we got off the boat (5.5 hour car trip WHEE).

What kind of drunks were these if they were not drunk at 8 AM???

Not very good ones, that's what.

um, consuming alcohol before and during an instance when you'll be piloting a small boat with other passengers (including a ten year-old kid) and throwing big metal hooks around on wire seems like a bad idea. Also, one of the people onboard (a friend of the family) is a recovering alcoholic, so fuck you and your bad jokes, pal.

This is another point where my trip wins; someone else was driving the boat for us so if we'd been inclined to get our booze on, it would have been copacetic (as long as the 15-year-old didn't get into the stash, of course, as then he might have actually succeeded in his attempt to strand us out in the middle of Lake Michigan).

Damn, I had an ILXor that close to me and I didn't know about it!
