Do you have a favourite spoonerism? I rather like Cooking Fat, Sid James' pet in one of the Carry On films. I was happy to find out that Brighton's leading scorer this season, Leon Knight, is - spooneristically - named after a Kraftwerk song.

I've a house and harden in the country
An ace I call my plown
A treat I can replace to
When I beed to knee alone
Catterfly and butterpillar
Perch on beefy lough
And I listen to the dats and cogs
As they mark and they biaow
Yes wature here is nunderful
There is no weed for nerds
While silling by my windowflutter
Biny little tirds

Did Ronnie Barker do a spoonerism monologue in the Two Ronnies?

Another amusing footy player to consider: Crewe's Kenny Lunt.

Cunning Stunts, anyone?

nickn (nickn), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 18:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Kenny Everett, I believe. I'm told he also had a character called Mary Hinge, but this is subject to official confirmation.

Oh Blimey, I'm confusing Cunning Stunts with Cupid Stunt. I should point out here that even when I was a vile teenager I found Kenny Everett purile drivel.
