It seems kind of tacky and cheap to publish an article like this based on a vague suspicion. I doubt a critic like that has only one person that would be out to get him.

In the Lawrence Block novel I'm reading, a critic has just been murdered. We don't yet know who by, but I suspect it'll be the subject of a nasty review. Henshaw should count himself lucky. Why does no one send me rabbit spam?

Much as I am all 'go Tracey!' in this argument, I can't help thinking that Henshaw's assertion that she is essentially a rather stupid woman who happens to hit on interesting ideas by accident has something to it. It's almost like she is a walking work of art, but completely unintentionally.
