A house! (well, a bungalow) Finally, our own place after over a year of short-term solution after short-term solution. So, it's completely unfurnished and all we have is an air mattress and a tiny tv (which has to travel all the way to the west coast from Northern Indiana), it's still ours. I'd invite all of ILX over for a barbecue only...there's nothing to sit on. Or eat off of. Still...yay!

I'm renting. I can't see how I will ever be able to afford to buy a house. Not in this state, not in this decade, anyway.

seven years pass...

so i'm in my new flat (not house) now, and feel loads better for it. Nicer area, closer to shops and bars, and much more.

But today i get my first bill, and my water rates have DOUBLED compared to my last place which is about 2 mile away. WTF?
