cross-cultural influences

What are some big examples of the combining two seperate cultures, or cultures with influences from other cultures?

I was thinking of things like: afro-cuban music, or the "hiroshima mon amour" movie.

brazil's cities are obviously very rich in latin and native cultures but the african/european/japanese influences are what makes it the apotheosis of this thread.

The typical fast food (or diner) meal owes its existence to more than one culture. The hamburger steak is of course from Germany, the idea for the sandwich is English, the combination of the two is American, and the typical side of fries is from Belgium. This could work.

I guess there are tons of words that drift from certain languages to others. Like karoke, karate, faux pas, rendezvous, etc
