sidekicks! classic or dud? search and destroy. would you like to be someone's sidekick? whose? would you like a sidekick of your own? who? or perhaps you choose to walk alone, like the true renegade you are.

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 21 August 2003 10:21 (twenty-two years ago)

I see myself as already having a sidekick actually!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 21 August 2003 10:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I've never had one and I'm not about to start. I keep thinking about sidekicks in the manner of wingmen, though, so perhaps it's the competition thing putting me off.

Lara (Lara), Thursday, 21 August 2003 10:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I think I'd be better as a sidekick than someone who has a sidekick. Though maybe I'm a bit bossy for that. I'm up for the homoerotic frisson that goes with fighting side by side a square-jawed man in tights.

My secret power would be the perfect roundness on my face.

Mark C (Mark C), Thursday, 21 August 2003 10:29 (twenty-two years ago)

what is the psychological disposition of your average sidekick? are they happy in that role? do they accept or even embrace it? isn't this like admitting you don't have enough confidence to stand or work alone, or you're afraid to take the spotlight for some reason? didn't Robin want to better than Batman eventually?

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 21 August 2003 10:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Mark, do you want to be my sidekick - your rounded features could compliment my angular cheekbones perfectly?

Lara (Lara), Thursday, 21 August 2003 10:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Search:

As employed by Ricardo Montalban and Christopher Lee. Also: can be carried around in a suitcase.

robster (robster), Thursday, 21 August 2003 10:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Oops. Forgot the i...

robster (robster), Thursday, 21 August 2003 10:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Rubens Barichello to thread!

(if he actually started posting, wouldn't it be the best thing?)

I meant the roundness of my face, not on it.

Mark C (Mark C), Thursday, 21 August 2003 10:46 (twenty-two years ago)

search:

Chewbacca
Tonto
Gromit
Milhouse
Soundwave's Cassecticons

Destroy:
that bloke who just sits there and laughs at Jonathan Ross' routine

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 21 August 2003 11:38 (twenty-two years ago)

What is the point of that bloke WJSALAJRR? Is he the producer or something?

Ricardo (RickyT), Thursday, 21 August 2003 11:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Destroy: Robin. He strikes me as more of a liability than a backup to the Caped Crusader.

robster (robster), Thursday, 21 August 2003 11:52 (twenty-two years ago)

I have a sidekick. He is 11 and Emma's brother. It disturbs me. I do not want a sidekick.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Thursday, 21 August 2003 11:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Search: Arthur

Dale the Titled (cprek), Thursday, 21 August 2003 11:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd be happy being a sidekick if I could be Spot the Police Cat to somebody's Hong Kong Phooey.

MarkH (MarkH), Thursday, 21 August 2003 12:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Search: Hank Kingsley

gobemouche, Thursday, 21 August 2003 12:40 (twenty-two years ago)

i'd rather Captain Haddock to somebody's Tintin - i am unlucky and accident prone enough, all i need is tom's beard and a pipe

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 21 August 2003 12:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I would like a robot sidekick that could serve beer and knows judo. It would be very handy.

Larcole (Nicole), Thursday, 21 August 2003 15:32 (twenty-two years ago)

As ever, Nicole comes up with exactly the answer we've all been searching for.

(*invents ice-cream serving attachment for robot)

Mark C (Mark C), Thursday, 21 August 2003 15:34 (twenty-two years ago)

They got rid of the bloke WJSALAJRR for the last series cos they realised it didn't work (at least on the telly).

James Ball (James Ball), Thursday, 21 August 2003 15:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Does Anne Uh-h-melmahay count as a sidekick?

Mark C (Mark C), Thursday, 21 August 2003 15:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Actually, I used to have a sidekick during my second and third years of university. His name was Mike.
He laughed at my stupid jokes.
I miss that.

Bruce Urquhart (Bruce Urquhart), Thursday, 21 August 2003 18:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Search: Artie the Strongest Man in the World, Penfold, Flavor Flav, Sen Dog
Destroy*: Scrappy Doo

*with maximum ferocity

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 21 August 2003 18:46 (twenty-two years ago)

I need a sidekick.

Or at least a partner-in-crime.

luna (luna.c), Thursday, 21 August 2003 18:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I always imagine the sidekick as being shorter than the main guy. I want to reverse this stereotype, which is why Manute Bol will be my sidekick.

NA (Nick A.), Thursday, 21 August 2003 18:57 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd be all right with a sidekick for the purposes of feeding me straight lines and disseminating catchphrases, I reckon.

Tep (ktepi), Thursday, 21 August 2003 19:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Why, I don't know, Tep, how is a 95-year-old man like a cactus?

NA (Nick A.), Thursday, 21 August 2003 19:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I think we have a match.

luna (luna.c), Thursday, 21 August 2003 19:07 (twenty-two years ago)

One of them ... uh ... one of them .. something with pricks ... the genitalia of the elderly = constant source of funny ... pricks ... uh ... mumble mumble prick mumble lap mumble prick prick mumble and the other one's a cactus.

Note to self: script sidekick routines.

Tep (ktepi), Thursday, 21 August 2003 19:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Makes it a bunch easier. Just as long as they still seem off-the-cuff, you guys'll be just fine.

Bruce Urquhart (Bruce Urquhart), Thursday, 21 August 2003 19:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Wait, can Nick be Tep's sidekick and also have Manute Bol for his own sidekick? Can sidekicks have sidekicks? And can their sidekicks have...*smacked in face*

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 21 August 2003 19:13 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm so happy I invented ice-cream.

David. (Cozen), Thursday, 21 August 2003 19:15 (twenty-two years ago)

"palooza" and "a-go-go" are our holies, btw, Nick. So none of that "holy fetish fashion show, Tep!" but rather, "Asspantspalooza, Tep!" or "Daaamn, latex-a-GO-go!" It's more T-shirt-able.

Tep (ktepi), Thursday, 21 August 2003 19:15 (twenty-two years ago)

whoop! bang! pow! zang!

onomotapeiapalooza!

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 21 August 2003 19:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Cozen broke my head.

NA (Nick A.), Thursday, 21 August 2003 19:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I think he got very happy and invented ice cream in order to thank the world.

Tep (ktepi), Thursday, 21 August 2003 19:47 (twenty-two years ago)

I need a sidekick.
Or at least a partner-in-crime.

I'll be your partner-in-crime. I refuse to be anyone's sidekick though. You already knew that, I bet.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 20:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I already have one. He's pretty cool, but he's always telling me what a dunderhead I am.

Here's a photo:

oops (Oops), Thursday, 21 August 2003 20:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll be your partner-in-crime. I refuse to be anyone's sidekick though. You already knew that, I bet.

Of course, 'cause me too.

Fabulous - I really wanted a partner-in-crime anyway. Sounds like much more fun.

luna (luna.c), Thursday, 21 August 2003 20:32 (twenty-two years ago)

It's kind of like our own personal version of V.I.P.!

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 20:34 (twenty-two years ago)

To you two, crime probably just means a cross-country Victoria Secret's thieving spree.

oops (Oops), Thursday, 21 August 2003 20:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Like you'd complain about that.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 20:35 (twenty-two years ago)

We gots mad skillz, yo. Plus, we can break you.

luna (luna.c), Thursday, 21 August 2003 20:36 (twenty-two years ago)

search: Juve and Fandor, Jeeves and Wooster, Randy and Tommy

amateurist (amateurist), Thursday, 21 August 2003 20:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, you might send the entire undergarment industry into a downward spiral, and that would be no good.

Break me? I'm not an appliance, hun.

oops (Oops), Thursday, 21 August 2003 20:38 (twenty-two years ago)

"No good" for whom? We've got our underwear, it's no biggie after we steal all of them.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 20:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Believe it or not, there are other women that I'd like to see in sexy underwear who would be deprived of said underwear by you two scallywags.
Perhaps y'all could be the Robin Hoods of lingerie, delighting the townspeople with your prescence and your frilly gifts.

oops (Oops), Thursday, 21 August 2003 20:42 (twenty-two years ago)

The thing is, we aren't really in this business to give you visual pleasure. Actually maybe that is what this panty raiding scheme is all about. OK, I'll give free underwear Robin Hood style to people I like.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 20:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh come off it, Ally. EVERYone is in the business of giving me visual pleasure. You know it. I know it. The whole damn system knows it.

oops (Oops), Thursday, 21 August 2003 20:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Even Dr. Fad?

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 20:48 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't have to give you squat, Jack.

luna (luna.c), Thursday, 21 August 2003 20:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Now I want my future sidekick to wear lingerie.

Bruce Urquhart (Bruce Urquhart), Thursday, 21 August 2003 21:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Lingerie made of sand pails?

Leee (Leee), Thursday, 21 August 2003 21:41 (twenty-two years ago)

no.

Bruce Urquhart (Bruce Urquhart), Thursday, 21 August 2003 21:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Glottis.

Best Sidekick Ever.
"Manny, until now we scraped along the ground like rats, but from now on, we soar! Like eagles! Yeah! LIKE EAGLES... ON... POGO STICKS!!!"

Dada, Thursday, 21 August 2003 22:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I need a sidekick something terrible, preferably a bleeping robot that can operate an automobile and stun-gun me when my blood-alcohol level hits a certain level

Millar (Millar), Thursday, 21 August 2003 22:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Robin Hood underwear had better have feathers in the crotch.

Tep (ktepi), Thursday, 21 August 2003 23:42 (twenty-two years ago)

So that's what you're into. Interesting.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 23:43 (twenty-two years ago)

On the outside of the underwear!

Tep (ktepi), Thursday, 21 August 2003 23:50 (twenty-two years ago)
