i have 4 massive back windows overlooking my back yard and beyond that the sea and many islands ( there are a couple of annoying houses that stop my view from being totally glorious, but im not complaining ).
its beautiful. come and visit! see for yourself! ( holiday rates apply hahaha )

i'm gonna post mine as soon as my pictures get developed; i can see LILY PADS (and a fox or two if i'm lucky) -- it's like the Holloway Rd nature preserve back there.

this thread should link to this one

This is from my old flat. Not much of any view from my new one.

At least when I lived there any psychos had to climb over a fucking huge viaduct if they wanted to scare me.

The view of my front door and from my back window are eerily similar.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 20 November 2003 04:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Cos I live in one of 4 identical bungalows.

I dont' have a back window now because I'm in an apartment, but I have lovely big bay windows in two directions....

to the east:

(mr teeny works in the very tall one with the triangle pattern; all the others are abandoned.

to the north:

this still makes me guffaw occasionally.

teeny (teeny), Sunday, 14 November 2004 21:58 (twenty years ago)

Wow, you really *do* have a swank place.

Kenan (kenan), Sunday, 14 November 2004 22:46 (twenty years ago)

"guffaw occasionally": I think you're being disingenuous. I can imagine you excitedly waking up, wondering if it's still there, running to the curtains, flinging them open and...laughing. Laughing through a shower, through breakfast, laughing on the way to work.

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Sunday, 14 November 2004 22:49 (twenty years ago)

Adam's pic is so East Bay!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Sunday, 14 November 2004 23:15 (twenty years ago)

it really is 'assn' but you can't see the 'n' unless you stand close to the window. Doesn't make it any less funny though.

teeny (teeny), Monday, 15 November 2004 08:34 (twenty years ago)

I don't have a pic, but you can easily imagine it: There is a parking lot in my backyard, and behind that, a ditch containing Interstate 84, along with some light rail and some Union Pacific train tracks. Beyond that, the ditch ends and there are more houses.

Casuistry (Chris P), Monday, 15 November 2004 08:42 (twenty years ago)

Wait, teeny, ALL the other ones are abandoned?

Casuistry (Chris P), Monday, 15 November 2004 08:44 (twenty years ago)

all the ones on that corner except for mine, yeah.

teeny (teeny), Monday, 15 November 2004 08:50 (twenty years ago)

That's kind of cool - you should knock through the walls and steal the other buildings.

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Monday, 15 November 2004 08:53 (twenty years ago)

That building to the right in my first picture is the Syndicate Trust building--it's been vacant for quite some time.

teeny (teeny), Monday, 15 November 2004 09:01 (twenty years ago)

Go squatting!

Casuistry (Chris P), Monday, 15 November 2004 09:32 (twenty years ago)

they are tearing it down. :(((
