New threads!

Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 25 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

A burrito al pastor from my favorite taqueria... I'll be taking the bus there for lunch today, and can't wait.

Sean, Tuesday, 25 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

waking up with my man at noon on a Saturday.

Samantha, Tuesday, 25 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

finding the perfect fitting music for a mood I'm in

Lyra, Tuesday, 25 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

When everything just is golden, absolutely smashed (not too much, not too little, able to walk, not gasping for water every two minutes) dancing to one of the GREAT dance songs, ie Insomniac, Higher State, Born Slippy, or anything in a Jon Carter/Plump Djs/Stanton Warriors/X Press 2 set with my good hedonist friend Stephen also present and off his face. Note:This is not a homoerotic fantasy. Its not just the night out either, the morning after (and I mean morning) has to be class too, ie bemuse people with our hilarious in jokes, see Memory Loss thread, and get the right place to be open for food. Having the energy to stay out all night and the stimulants to make this possible. Then to top it off having nothing to do all day the next day, so getting up at 5 or so and driving to Mc Donalds. There have been many of these nights lately, absolute gold.

Ronan, Tuesday, 25 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

My favorite dive bar - $2 beer, great jukebox, pool. double yay.

Samantha, Tuesday, 25 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

burritos! dear god, burritos! red bean and cheese burritos! chicken mole burritos! from santa fe burrito company on 11th st...mmmmmmm....::drools::

jess, Tuesday, 25 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Kisses that feel like Christmas morning.

DavidM, Tuesday, 25 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Bah. Until you have all tasted the wonderful burritos at Taco Mesa in the town where I live, YOU HAVE NOT TASTED THE ESSENCE OF BURRITO. So don't pretend otherwise. ;-)

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 25 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Ned, you are quite incorrect. The Mission district of San Francisco is home to the greatest burritos, I assure you.

Sean, Tuesday, 25 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Ronan: what does "when everything is golden" mean, exactly?

Sean, Tuesday, 25 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I have been there, sir. They are indeed fine. But in the greatest and calmest of respects, you are speaking smack talk. ;-)

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 25 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Getting back in touch with family members who I had lost touch with.

Ally, Tuesday, 25 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Perfect.

Ronan, Tuesday, 25 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

damnit raggett! must you piss on every parade i put on?

(no wife swap for you. no sir.)

jess, Tuesday, 25 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

and that post is the the most blithely ignorantly beautiful thing ronan will probably ever write.

jess, Tuesday, 25 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

(ignant in the sense that he wasn't trying to be "bootiful.")

jess, Tuesday, 25 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeding

Pennysong Hanle y, Tuesday, 25 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Coffee and ramen for breakfast/lunch/dinner.

Honda, Tuesday, 25 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Coffee and ramen for breakfast/lunch/dinner is not my definition of joy.

Sean, Tuesday, 25 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Driving. My grandfather was a truck driver. It's in the blood.

bnw, Tuesday, 25 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

my friends. good music. two weeks off work. ILE!

di, Tuesday, 25 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I say Di has us all beat, and we should worship. Oh yes. But Ally's is very nice too. :-)

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 25 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I like Hanley's, actually. Unless he's talking about periods, which are NOT joyful at all.

Ally, Tuesday, 25 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

my friend Kirsten brings me joy. Today is her birthday and I love her so much, it feels like its my birthday too.

rainy, Tuesday, 25 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Sunday afternoons. Where we lie in be d, read the papers and eat various bread products

anthony, Tuesday, 25 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

speaking of periods, if you could take a pill to not have them at all would you?

Pennysong Hanle y, Wednesday, 26 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

buttocks.

Geoff, Wednesday, 26 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

and...coffee, sunshine, pearly fingernails, songs with clapping in them, polaroids, diamonds, my haircut, cheap plastic accessories, beer, cherries, b minor, making large photographs, striped pajamas, things that make a deep booming noise, and small ugly boats.

rainy, Wednesday, 26 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

and porridge.

rainy, Wednesday, 26 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Driving somewhere when I am in no hurry--listening to the oldies station on the way.

Ooh and mail. Packages. Anticipating them.

Eating indian food!

Sitting on my porch and smoking parliament lights.

Mandee, Wednesday, 26 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

speaking of periods, if you could take a pill to not have them at all would you?

YES. Now that would be true joy.

Ally, Wednesday, 26 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

You dont need a pill, just a quick operation, its called a sex change. Theres lots of other bonuses aswell.

Ronan, Wednesday, 26 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Like what? Being a bloke? Aye right.

Ally, Wednesday, 26 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

True I suppose, you'd have to deal with the perpetual mysteries that operate the female mind.

Ronan, Wednesday, 26 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

and: being a girl, my walkman with it's beautiful silver headphones, peaches, my guitar.

rainy, Wednesday, 26 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

six years pass...

omg walkman and peaches. love it

i think both of those things still bring me joy sometimes. =P

Surmounter, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 19:50 (seventeen years ago)

My daughter. Easy question.

Daniel, Esq., Wednesday, 12 March 2008 19:53 (seventeen years ago)

I act like a fuckhead and "forgive" myself for it.

dell, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 19:54 (seventeen years ago)

haha i do that a lot.

my kitty!

Surmounter, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 19:55 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah, cats are pretty amazing. I will co-habitate with one again before this lifetime is over.

dell, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 19:57 (seventeen years ago)

yes. i spent too many years without one and now i just can't imagine. esp when you have the right one... so loving, trusting, and comforting. ::tear::

Surmounter, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 20:00 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah, they are sweethearts. Not to mention that looking after an animal or plant is always good for the soul...

dell, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 20:24 (seventeen years ago)

definitely. i need more plants!

Surmounter, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 21:54 (seventeen years ago)

Me too... one of those New Year's resolutions which shockingly, incredibly, I have not made good on as of yet.

Mold growing inside yet-to-be-discarded tamato (intentionally-misspelled) sauce jar (because landlords apparently do not understand recycling, wtf?)
probably does not count as houseplant.

dell, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 22:30 (seventeen years ago)

fourteen years pass...

a man often referred to in the news media as the Duke of Saxony (tipsy mothra), Saturday, 2 July 2022 18:31 (three years ago)

Damn, those sound excellent.

Hiking with my adult sons, even though they have to wait for me to catch up every mile or so.

immodesty blaise (jimbeaux), Saturday, 2 July 2022 18:32 (three years ago)

Waking up in a tent in the woods, to a day when I have no responsibility for anything but my own well-being. It feels like heaven on earth.
