(no clickable link given because, hey, watch out for them referrals)

Why do I get the odd feeling that, given the selection of links our anonymous friend plans to "goof on" (note the presence of ultra-scarce blogger Matos, as well as a ton of other ILXer blogs), this is the attempted lashing out/revenge of a pained Chr*s *tt?

Nate Patrin (Nate Patrin), Monday, 25 August 2003 22:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I doubt it.

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 25 August 2003 22:40 (twenty-two years ago)

there's a very good reason this isn't ott.

also, this is sad beyond belief, but that's a given i suppose.

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Monday, 25 August 2003 23:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Man. What an asshole.

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Monday, 25 August 2003 23:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Best just to ignore 'em, not really worth wasting time on or getting upset over such asshattery.

Larcole (Nicole), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 00:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, I don't know what this is about, but I just love it when people write "us" and "we" on their websites when they really mean "me" and "I". It gives a communal sense of "it's not just me, I'm not the solitary loser" and yet everyone knows it's a one-man operation. Graphic designers often pull this shit on their shoddy websites, as if you'll be dealing with a team of talented folk, rather than some solitary sack operating out of his bedroom.

I almost wish I had a blog so I could join the roll of honor.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 00:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Awwww...almost reminds me of Indieshite.
;^)

j.lu (j.lu), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 00:31 (twenty-two years ago)

OMG several blogs have a link to the same story!! shocker!!! i hear that newspapers sometimes run the same story too!!!!

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 00:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Indieshite was funny, that's the key difference. From reading it, it looks like the work of some Pitchfork writer who still lives in his mom's basement and doesn't own a pair of pants.

Larcole (Nicole), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 00:34 (twenty-two years ago)

So cruel, Larcole. The pants could be rented.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 01:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I wanna defend the use of the editorial "we," though. I find it a lot more elegant & enjoyable to read, and it's got lots of potential for humor (vide Thurbur). Fellow stodgy pronounce-it-right classicist types will find an on-topic pun in the Latin word there, for which I apologize.

J0hn Darn1elle (J0hn Darn1elle), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 01:50 (twenty-two years ago)

We here at Andy K agree with that.

Andy K (Andy K), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 02:13 (twenty-two years ago)

That's TMFTML's trick. I think it's adorable. Who would ever hate on that guy?

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 02:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, we here at wehere.org find the use of the "editorial" we a bit pretentious when both the writer and the editor (and indeed the whole staff) are the same person. Right up there with referring to yourself in the 3rd person. We here don't like that!

We, Tuesday, 26 August 2003 02:26 (twenty-two years ago)

We are not amused. Are we?

Vic-TOR-i-AH (Ned), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 02:27 (twenty-two years ago)

guess I really will stop blogging now. (cough cough hack hack)

M Matos (M Matos), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 02:31 (twenty-two years ago)

We don't give a shit.

We, The Network For Women, Tuesday, 26 August 2003 02:32 (twenty-two years ago)

aww, a little pretension never hurt nobody & is the key ingredient in practically every good band ever

J0hn Darn1elle (J0hn Darn1elle), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 02:37 (twenty-two years ago)

It's funny when Chris Ware does it, I'll give you that.

Sc, Tuesday, 26 August 2003 02:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Bloggers have fun blogging and anti-bloggers have fun anti-blogging. Every one wins.

Andy K (Andy K), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 02:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I wanna defend the use of the editorial "we," though.

well, duh, your band name...

gygax! (gygax!), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 03:37 (twenty-two years ago)

i dont see the problem here, i think its nice that he reads the other blogs

gareth (gareth), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 06:13 (twenty-two years ago)

i use "you", that gets "me" off the hook

mark s (mark s), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 07:22 (twenty-two years ago)

"Welcome to the first blog that dares to criticise other blogs"

God I feel old all of a sudden.

This seems harmless enough.

Tom (Groke), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 08:01 (twenty-two years ago)

This appears to be the geek equivalent of Tanya.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 08:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, I'm all for this. We all need our egos pricked every now and then.

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 08:20 (twenty-two years ago)

So am i the only one that thinks the Anti-Blogger is funny (even though, my entry wasnt very)? It's only retardation. no need to get panties in a bunch.

Ultrasnore, Thursday, 28 August 2003 16:09 (twenty-two years ago)

no you are not the only one, there are a bunch of people defending it, on this very thread actually, just scroll up a little

gareth (gareth), Thursday, 28 August 2003 16:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Indieshite was funny.

Larcole (Nicole), Thursday, 28 August 2003 16:41 (twenty-two years ago)

So who WAS indieshite, anyway?

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Thursday, 28 August 2003 16:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Heh. Yeah, the first thing I thought of was Indieshite too. The second thing I thought of was Adam Mathes' webloglog. Suffice it to say that TABB has some pretty big shoes to fill. (Memo to TABB: If you're going to do this, do us a favor: don't be a poseur and conk out after six months like these other pansies.)

Nick Mirov (nick), Friday, 29 August 2003 06:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Damn! The anit-blog blogger just wrote his "suicide" note! no more anit-blogging. I may live on the other side of the planet, but im really gonna miss him. Really, Gone before his time...short, but memorable...as long as we keep him in our hearts, it's like he is still with us...

Adi, Friday, 29 August 2003 12:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Maybe in the next life he will come back funny.

Larcole (Nicole), Friday, 29 August 2003 12:29 (twenty-two years ago)

orange is definitely "in" for blogs, innit
