RJG (RJG), Thursday, 28 August 2003 16:26 (twenty-two years ago)

my old roomate Agnies was Polish and we constantly had this battle. i prefer peanut butter myself, but inspiration from the grilled cheese thread lead me to believe many of you prefer nutella. and, do they make crunchy nutella?

old lace.

Emilymv (Emilymv), Thursday, 28 August 2003 16:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm guessing nutella is the one on the left. Hazel nut chocolate spread? Sounds a little sweet.

lawrence kansas (lawrence kansas), Thursday, 28 August 2003 16:55 (twenty-two years ago)

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 28 August 2003 17:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Have gone thru both 'phases', to be honest.

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Thursday, 28 August 2003 17:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Nutella. On toast. And lick the knife after.

Jamie Conway (Jamie Conway), Thursday, 28 August 2003 17:11 (twenty-two years ago)

My litmus test is "Which would be the better choice to lick off your lover's chest?", so Nutella.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 28 August 2003 17:12 (twenty-two years ago)

i don't know, choosy moms choose jiff.

Emilymv (Emilymv), Thursday, 28 August 2003 17:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Nutella is food of the gods. Peanut butter sucks monkey ass.

Johnney B (Johnney B), Thursday, 28 August 2003 17:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Lucky monkey.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 28 August 2003 17:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Mmmm. Nutella right out of the jar when youre a kiddo, the most dulcet summer breeze...But these days, Im all about the organic Tree of Life peanut butter. Thats some wholesome glue right there.

Francis Watlington (Francis Watlington), Thursday, 28 August 2003 21:05 (twenty-two years ago)

The king: Milky Way chocolate spread. That stuff is heart coronary in a jar, but its soooo sweet.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 28 August 2003 21:21 (twenty-two years ago)

WHAT?!!?! i never knew that it existed! where do you live? maybe we don't have it here. how depressing. is it new?

Emilymv (Emilymv), Thursday, 28 August 2003 21:23 (twenty-two years ago)

lolita corpus (lolitacorpus), Thursday, 28 August 2003 21:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Milky Way chocolate spread is readily available in English supermarkets (Tesco's and Morrison's at least). Dunno about the states.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 28 August 2003 21:55 (twenty-two years ago)

We have it here in LA

luna (luna.c), Thursday, 28 August 2003 21:56 (twenty-two years ago)

do you mean the two tone stuff dom? I must give it a shot.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 28 August 2003 21:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah. There's two sections to it, a standard, derivative chocolate spread, and then... whatever that white stuff is in Milky Way. Except, insted of there just being a small amount of it like there is in a Milky Way, here there's half a jar. The trick is not to mix the two together when you spread it.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 28 August 2003 22:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Don't you poor souls understand that you're supposed to mix Nutella and peanut butter together?!?!?!

Girolamo Savonarola, Thursday, 28 August 2003 23:23 (twenty-two years ago)

nutella AND peanut butter! on the same sammich! tasty MADNESS!

nickalicious is now my Number One Best Friend for bringing up this yummy treat. Why choose either one when you can have BOTH between two slices of honest-to-goodness, good old fashioned American white bread? Move over Campbell's because the aforementioned is TRULY mmm mmm good.

Just Deanna (Dee the Lurker), Thursday, 28 August 2003 23:27 (twenty-two years ago)

you'll only eat american bread? what is american bread?

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 28 August 2003 23:29 (twenty-two years ago)

i think the white stuff is nougat.

Emilymv (Emilymv), Thursday, 28 August 2003 23:31 (twenty-two years ago)

what is the crust made of?

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 28 August 2003 23:34 (twenty-two years ago)

you'll only eat american bread? what is american bread?

Oh hush you!

i think the white stuff is nougat.

You too!

what is the crust made of?

*sticks tongue out at RJG*

Just Deanna (Dee the Lurker), Thursday, 28 August 2003 23:42 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't think emilymv knew she was helping.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 28 August 2003 23:48 (twenty-two years ago)

4 out of 5 doctors say that eating nutella will turn you into a whore.

isitzo, Friday, 29 August 2003 01:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Cashew-macademia butter from Trader Joes.

cross post madness?

Leee (Leee), Friday, 29 August 2003 02:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Crunchy Nutella is the best damn idea since Spraycon.

What I like about Nutella is that it has enough of a chocolate thing going that you can use it to frost a cupcake if you want[1], but it's not as sweet as actual frosting. Perfect match for strawberries, and so on.

I'll pick peanut butter, though, cause it's more versatile. I'm not about to make Nutella Chicken[2].

[1] Assuming she doesn't squirm too much.
[2] I probably will, now that I've thought of it.

Tep (ktepi), Friday, 29 August 2003 02:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I think I've only eaten Nutella once. It was horrible. Peanut butter is lovely tho - I don't even have a preference for crunchy or smooth...any will do!

Now there's something I've never seen on a message board before: footnotes.

Girolamo Savonarola, Friday, 29 August 2003 11:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Crunchy Nutella

But what would provide the crunch?

Mmm chocolate peanut butter, num num

do they do white chocolate spread yet?

j0e (j0e), Friday, 29 August 2003 11:48 (twenty-two years ago)

the cashews would give the crunch, assuming it is made with actual cashews.

Emilymv (Emilymv), Friday, 29 August 2003 11:52 (twenty-two years ago)

aaahhh. I was hoping it was going to be something like that and not beetles etc

j0e (j0e), Friday, 29 August 2003 11:54 (twenty-two years ago)

emily is insane.

RJG (RJG), Friday, 29 August 2003 13:07 (twenty-two years ago)

richard how did you not say "nuts" instead of insane.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 29 August 2003 13:19 (twenty-two years ago)

I didn't want to dilute my assessment by using slang instead of the correct terminology.

RJG (RJG), Friday, 29 August 2003 13:22 (twenty-two years ago)

sounds fair
