no wonder she got her job, she worked for daddy
she likes white men too!
PS Sorry about you gettin g the sack Dan. What will you do now?
(As far as me personally, I'm looking for a job. I'm somewhat disturbed because it's only after losing my job and going through the prerequisite rage and feeling bad that I'm beginning to realize exactly how unhappy I was to be there. In fact, I would rather have been Condoleeza Rice's boy toy than continue in that job.)

Nick Lemann: "Bush doesn't have prior experience in foreign policy. It seems as if he expresses his instincts and Rice translates them into policy. It doesn't seem as if Rice is telling Bush what to think, and it also doesn't seem as if Bush is giving Rice detailed orders to execute. I should stress that we won't know for decades, or maybe ever, what the relationship is really like, because she's very discreet about it."
Someone named Peter Beaumont in U.S. News: "The Bushes have formed an emotional connection with the resolutely single Rice that some suggest is that of a 'surrogate daughter', despite their closeness in age."

"Rice, who shares the President’s passions for exercise and watching sports events, especially football, on television, will often spend hours with him during non-working time when other staff members never see him. Washington urgently wants to know: What do they talk about for so long? Who’s influencing whom?"
"On talk shows, she is much more likely than other officials to begin sentences with “The President believes that,” and even within her small social circle, when conversation turns to Administration policy, she tends to say exactly what she says on television, except that she is more open about her adoration of the President. “I can’t find the Archimedean point outside her love of Bush,” one friend says."
"Though Rice and Bush would appear to be an unlikely pair, the common ground between them encompasses religious faith and football fandom and a sardonic sense of humor; more broadly, an outsider-inside-the-establishment feeling and a tendency to see life in terms of good guys and bad guys; even more broadly, a complete absence of self-doubt. Bush, born into circumstances in which virtually nothing was impossible, and Rice, born into circumstances in which believing, against all evidence, that nothing was impossible must have seemed like the best revenge, have wound up with the equation of caution and weakness as a shared conviction. Rice and Bush seem to reinforce, rather than challenge or balance, each other."

As Rice walked out to greet the troops, the coat blew open in a rather swashbuckling way to reveal the top of a pair of knee-high boots. The boots had a high, slender heel that is not particularly practical. But it is a popular silhouette because it tends to elongate and flatter the leg. In short, the boots are sexy.
Rice boldly eschewed the typical fare chosen by powerful American women on the world stage. She was not wearing a bland suit with a loose-fitting skirt and short boxy jacket with a pair of sensible pumps. She did not cloak her power in photogenic hues, a feminine brooch and a non-threatening aesthetic. Rice looked as though she was prepared to talk tough, knock heads and do a freeze-frame "Matrix" jump kick if necessary. Who wouldn't give her ensemble a double take -- all the while hoping not to rub her the wrong way?
Rice's coat and boots speak of sex and power -- such a volatile combination, and one that in political circles rarely leads to anything but scandal. When looking at the image of Rice in Wiesbaden, the mind searches for ways to put it all into context. It turns to fiction, to caricature. To shadowy daydreams. Dominatrix! It is as though sex and power can only co-exist in a fantasy. When a woman combines them in the real world, stubborn stereotypes have her power devolving into a form that is purely sexual.

As for Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi of Libya, who was killed Thursday after a revolution, Ms. Rice adds details about his well-known “eerie fascination with me.” She writes that he made a video showing pictures of her while a song called “Black Flower in the White House” played. “It was weird,” she writes, “but at least it wasn’t raunchy.”

You all remember the incident where he held a press conference for female journalists from all over the world in his tent just so he could try to get them into his bed, right? I wonder what lengths he went to to try to get Condi.
