Not exactly bizarre weather, but I once drove about eight miles across Hampshire/Berkshire at night in very dense, rolling fog. I was driving from Fleet to Shinfield along totally unlit roads, alternately surrounded by open fields and dense forest. Visbility reduced to about five feet beyond the windscreen. Overall insanity of this expedition enhanced by "Dead Man" soundtrack (Neil Young) on car stereo. And when I say "rolling" fog - it was moving faster than the car for most of the journey. When illuminated by the headlights, dense fog has a very menacing but entracing physicality.
