POX: Threads Locked by an Administrator

Was it really necessary to lock that thread where Chaki posted cartoons of women shaking a little ass?
And, what 10 threads that were locked by an adminstrator are classics?

poo bear, Sunday, 31 August 2003 05:30 (twenty-two years ago)

"necessary"

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Sunday, 31 August 2003 05:32 (twenty-two years ago)

personally i was against the locking of the thread. i do think that fighting is best contained on the thread it started rather than letting it spill out onto other threads.

gareth (gareth), Sunday, 31 August 2003 06:25 (twenty-two years ago)

the last image on that thread was racist AND sexist IMHO. And the thread had become pointless, besides.

Orbit (Orbit), Sunday, 31 August 2003 06:26 (twenty-two years ago)

That last post and subsequent locking was a punchline to a joke! Is it really that hard to tell? I thought it was the most hilarious thing ever, and assumed the locking was simply so the punchline (ie, the PCU joke) wouldn't be diluted.

Lordy, where's everyones sense of humour today?

Trayce (trayce), Sunday, 31 August 2003 06:32 (twenty-two years ago)

i can answer that question for you trayce, just not here

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Sunday, 31 August 2003 06:35 (twenty-two years ago)

calling my post "racist and sexist" is a laughable, inaccurate accusation at best.

chaki (chaki), Sunday, 31 August 2003 06:36 (twenty-two years ago)

chaki that is a racist, sexist image.
how is it different from say, the Sambo's logo?

Orbit (Orbit), Sunday, 31 August 2003 06:38 (twenty-two years ago)

and especially placed in a context like that--a thread asking if ile is hostile to women--in that context it is hostile. that is what i think, i'm entitled to it. you can disagree, fine but Pink Dot is here and I'm tired of this nonsense. ...and here i thought you were such a nice boy *pout*

Orbit (Orbit), Sunday, 31 August 2003 06:40 (twenty-two years ago)

the image is a parliament-funkadelic related image that was on a george clinton endorsed page

chaki (chaki), Sunday, 31 August 2003 06:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Jim - we soooo need to catch up for a bitch... err I mean beer ;)

Trayce (trayce), Sunday, 31 August 2003 06:42 (twenty-two years ago)

hahahahahahahahhahahahaaaaaa
doesn't matter. doesn't change what i think about it.
nite all

Orbit (Orbit), Sunday, 31 August 2003 06:42 (twenty-two years ago)

make *my* funk the p-funk.

luna (luna.c), Sunday, 31 August 2003 06:43 (twenty-two years ago)

chaki is a sexist nazi, everybody. you heard it here first.

chaki (chaki), Sunday, 31 August 2003 06:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Clinton sure shakes MAH booty.

Yes chaki you horrible person, how dare you make a clever joke based on a film! ;)

Trayce (trayce), Sunday, 31 August 2003 06:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I will take anything out of context and MAKE it sexist and/or racist, dammit!

apogee (Oops), Sunday, 31 August 2003 06:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I want to get funked up.

luna (luna.c), Sunday, 31 August 2003 06:52 (twenty-two years ago)

shit, I offered to dub you Dr. Funkenstein. Doesn't sound like your heart is totally into this whole funk thing.

oops (Oops), Sunday, 31 August 2003 06:56 (twenty-two years ago)

I just realised I read chakis post as "chaki is a sexy nazi", and that had me interested.

Trayce (trayce), Sunday, 31 August 2003 06:57 (twenty-two years ago)

chaki, the sexiest nazi

gareth (gareth), Sunday, 31 August 2003 06:59 (twenty-two years ago)

ilkalicious (nickalicious), Sunday, 31 August 2003 07:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Right now I think some words of wisdoom my gramma taught me might come in handy: shake whatyer momma gave ya.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Sunday, 31 August 2003 07:01 (twenty-two years ago)

but im a mexican jew people!

orbit,
dis me all you want. ive never personally attacked you. i still wont. i met you in real life and thought you were cool. im sorry you take my generally-silly-not-even-directed-twords-you posts so personally. but i dont think i should walk on eggshells when i want to post something funny for fear of offending my new friend orbit. if you dont wanna be friends with me anymore because you think im a sexist piece of shit then ok. but remember CHAKI IS YOUR FRIEND TILL THE END.

chaki (chaki), Sunday, 31 August 2003 07:01 (twenty-two years ago)

i dont know, man, you can say what you like about Chaki, but at least he got the trains to run on time

gareth (gareth), Sunday, 31 August 2003 07:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Blame the masses not the adminstrators. Many of us were demanding of the only administrator online at that moment to lock that thread right then b/c Chaki's ending was so beautifully perfect. Yes it was out of the normal limits of locking but it was just a perfect ending and we couldn't let it pass.

Also Orbit, I predicted you would find the ending sexist. Isn't being so predictable tiresome sweetie?

Texas, Biyatch! (thatgirl), Sunday, 31 August 2003 07:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Right now I think some words of wisdoom my gramma taught me might come in handy: shake whatyer momma gave ya.

Doesn't that mean she was kind of saying either "shake what my daughter gave you" or "shake what my daughter-in-law gave you"? Cause dude, that's kinda not right.

Tep (ktepi), Sunday, 31 August 2003 07:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Still ain't got nuthin' on the "yelling out of car windows" thread.

I blame hstenciil.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Sunday, 31 August 2003 07:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Damnit Tep and your like logic and shit. Lawdhavemercy.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Sunday, 31 August 2003 07:04 (twenty-two years ago)

chaki (chaki), Sunday, 31 August 2003 07:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Was Miles Davis racist? You make the call.

oops (Oops), Sunday, 31 August 2003 07:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Damnit Tep and your like logic and shit. Lawdhavemercy.

All I'm saying is maybe your gramma was a little, you know, dirrrty, that's all. Just a little. I mean, I've seen Cocoon. I know my shit.

Tep (ktepi), Sunday, 31 August 2003 07:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Dude you're seriously the master of putting images in my head that I don't want in my haed, I hope you know that.

Oh wait we're not in that thread are we? HA!

nickalicious (nickalicious), Sunday, 31 August 2003 07:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Nickel, you are at this moment singing to me from my DVD/CD player, so it all evens out.

Tep (ktepi), Sunday, 31 August 2003 07:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I love the car-crash threads. It's like listening to all the fights outside my window except I can understand every word, and nobody turns to me and scowls "what the fuck you lookin' at"!

dave q, Sunday, 31 August 2003 19:19 (twenty-two years ago)

they do provide entertainment value if you stand back, especially when you realise that its always there for anyone to google and have a look at, at any time

gareth (gareth), Sunday, 31 August 2003 20:08 (twenty-two years ago)

and only this time, to be greeted with the shaking of the ass.

That one guy that hit it and quit it, Saturday, 8 December 2007 16:11 (eighteen years ago)

"Rockin' Over the Beat" is better than anything.

Noodle Vague, Saturday, 8 December 2007 16:15 (eighteen years ago)

I think that thread was locked to stop me posting a sarcy comment about how grebt old-ILM was.

Noodle Vague, Saturday, 8 December 2007 16:16 (eighteen years ago)

the last image on that thread was racist AND sexist IMHO. And the thread had become pointless, besides.

libcrypt, Saturday, 8 December 2007 17:34 (eighteen years ago)

I love how Geir is on half those threads just to tell us that Technotronic have no "musical value".

They're always sad to watch, like they've got concrete tied around their feet as they sink further down into the depths of the Site New Answers page, only to eventually disappear into the inky blue oblivion.

I wish the f-ing rickroll would sink into oblivion.

iirc the mods made my legit link a rickroll.
