Now, I like a lot of liquor, and a lot of combinations of liquor, (ANymore I drink beer and bourbon and high-grade tequila for the most part) but to me a Screwdriver just makes a nasty sour-ass drink (I'm a Manhattan/ Scotch-Rocks guy). It's almost like drinking OJ right after brushing your teeth. Adding the Galiano to make a Harvey Wallbanger does make it a lot better though.

They're OK when you use decent vodka, like Belvedier (I know, spelling all fucked up) or Grey Goose, but all I got here is Smirnoff 100 proof, which is sour as fuck and guarunteed to make me have major headaches when I wake up.

any vodka drink needs fuckloads of ice or extremely chilled vodka, this is even more true of screwdrivers.

Waste of good vodka if you ask me. What the hell is with grey goose. i think it's bloody awful. The french shoudl stick to the spirits they are good at making, cognac, armagnac, calvados, patsis etc.

There's a new French vodka, Ciroc, which is a very good. Very "clean," but not much flavor.

The tyranny of the flavourless vodka continues. Don't people realise that you have to put something in vodka to make it taste of something even if its Baking Soda (Moskovskaya).

Not if you use some decent chilled vodka. If you do use some decent vodka that has been chilled in the freezer, it will pretty much taste like whatever you mix with it and you will get popped and probably not realize it is happening.

I've steered clear from the vodka for this very reason, as I found myself losing track and ending up accidently breaking a telephone and TV while on the stuff (different times, mind you).

I stick to beer and whisky, though never at the same time and I rarely drink these days.

mmmmm, triple screwdrivers were the downfall of my bank account once upon a time.

Screwdrivers I can do without; now mimosa on the other hand...*drools*.

I love screwdrivers, I dont see what the problem is. Although I prefer vodka with tonic, lemon & lots of ice.

ten years pass...

i love screwdrivers. pro-tip, add a little bit of seltzer. pro-tip #2: refill screwdrivers throughout the day so the effect doesn't wear off.

Pro tip 3. Throw away your shitty orange juice and buy some grapefruit juice and make a vodka drink that doesn't suck.

vodka is serious

Not a big vodka fan, def. not a fan of screwdrivers but:

- potato vodka like Luksosowa will change your mind about the spirit
- lemon drops are the only thing to drink on a dizzy night out at a gay bar with dancing
- bloody marys are best drunk unmixed with the vodka poured gently over the tomato so it floats on top
- Caesars
