who designs wallpaper / fabric patterns?

has anyone ever actually MET someone who said " oh yeah i design wallpaper patterns for so-and so" ?
while we're at it, who on earth makes up all those paint colours for houses and comes up with the ridiculous names? like : 'beach bear' ( sadly, that is a real example ).

if you could see the curtains ( provided by my landlord ) in my spare room you would be as concerned as i am about who is doing this stuff.

Wallpaper patterns are unwittingly designed by bored telemarketers who doodle as they work. Highly trained and paid janitors retrieve these doodles, carefully remove any that resemble figures trademarked by the notoriously ruthless and bloodthirsty Walt Disney Corporation (tm) and then courier them to clandestine wallpaper factories in SE Asia.

as for the textile thing, how did your friends gf get into it jim? i want to design my own textile patterns for my childrens clothing business ( yeah the one i meant to start a year ago hahaha ). i spose she is a 'qualified designer person' yes?

hmmmmm well i dont need a job i just need to find someone to print my designs and no one here will give me the names of their suppliers. they think im going to steal their 'mega-buck-making-chain-store-stranglehold :-)
never mind. at least i know now where the wallpaper patterns come from!
