The unforgettable mustard sequence in Jackass, and my girlfriend's irrational hatred of non-natural sponges (she cannot have them near her)prompts me to ask: do you have an irrational hatred of something?

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Monday, 1 September 2003 22:51 (twenty-one years ago)

hehe - oh yes jim!

My friend mother has a phobia of buttons - yes not a dislike or a preference a genuine PHOBIA. bad on items of clothing but much much worse if they are loose.

jed_e_3 (jed_e_3), Monday, 1 September 2003 23:01 (twenty-one years ago)

This is a surprisingly common phobia. A boyfriend of my sister's had it and I have known other people to concede that yes, they do avoid buttons if they can (for no aesthetic or practical reason they can identify).

Emilymv (Emilymv), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 14:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Pastel-colored-ink pens; I mean, seriously, what the fuck are you gonna do with a pink-ink pen? Unless you have some kinda magic BLACK paper, wtf good are these things?

Jesse Fuchs (Jesse Fuchs), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 15:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Toe socks! These things are a crime against humanity and must be destroyed above all else! No one wants to look at your bizarre rainbow-striped monkey feet!!

Dale the Titled (cprek), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 15:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Blasphemy! toe socks are the gloves of the feet! Are you a mitten person also? i may have to reconsider our friendship!

Emilymv (Emilymv), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 16:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Ha! I own 3 pairs of toe socks.

N14h would look funny in toe socks cuz her toes are like other peoples' fingers.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 16:30 (twenty-one years ago)

You people are insane. Toe socks make me want to stab feet.

Dale the Titled (cprek), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 17:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Like stabbing feet is the world's most rational activity!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 17:34 (twenty-one years ago)

It seems like everything I post these days is Perry-bait.

Dale the Titled (cprek), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 17:39 (twenty-one years ago)

answering machines. Hell, phones in general. I'd rather send an email from my phone then call someone. This is why cell phones have messed my world up.
I still hate them. Thing damm near gives me a heartattack when it goes off.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 17:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Dude, I'm right there stabbing feet with you; I hate toe-socks. I was just marvelling at the incongruity.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 17:40 (twenty-one years ago)

mock turtlenecks. both the actual item as it appears and the abstract idea of these things pains me.

Emilymv (Emilymv), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 19:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Blasphemy! toe socks are the gloves of the feet!

this sentence makes me indescribably happy!

Just Deanna (Dee the Lurker), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 19:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Flip-flops.

Jellyfish, though the fuckers keep stinging me, so it's pretty damn rational.

Blowing up balloons, or worse, people near me blowing up balloons. I can't bear the anticipation that they might pop. Balloons filled with jellyfish!

Mark C (Mark C), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 19:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm with you on toe-sock. bleargh!

and overhead lights really, really freak me the fuck out.

Nick, there is black paper, it's hardly magic though.

Turtle neck tops.
Melville,Saskatchewan.( It' s a place I realize, but in my mind it feels like it should be a object. I drive round at all cost.)

danielle g. (danielle g.), Wednesday, 3 September 2003 00:53 (twenty-one years ago)

BALLOONS! Thankyou Mark C, I thought I was mental for being scared of balloons. People inflating them, or squeezing and squeaking them near me, makes me want to hide behind the couch in abject terror.

To a lesser extent, champagne bottles (I always want to pronounce it "shampaggan" after seeing Futurama, heh) do this to me as well, and I often make someone else pop the cork.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 3 September 2003 01:00 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm scared of going over (or under for that matter) high bridges as well. I keep thinking they'll collapse. Going over the Westgate Bridge is a white-knuckle nightmare every time, I'm not exaggerating. I dont know where this stupid fear came from.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 3 September 2003 01:01 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't think you're alone with that fear, Trayce.

oops (Oops), Wednesday, 3 September 2003 01:05 (twenty-one years ago)
