And if so, doesn't this really, really fuck up their credibility at college?

Our Band Could Be Your Life mentioned that Steve Albini's college girlfriend was in one of these.

I'm rather surprised Albini had a girlfriend before getting famous.

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Wednesday, 3 September 2003 03:28 (twenty-one years ago)

i surprised he was so angry back then.

Kingfish (Kingfish), Wednesday, 3 September 2003 03:40 (twenty-one years ago)

some folks at yale a few years back protested against this.

amateurist (amateurist), Wednesday, 3 September 2003 04:02 (twenty-one years ago)

You'd think Yalies would be more concerned with that "Ivy League Hooker" phenomenon that got talked up over the last couple of years.

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Wednesday, 3 September 2003 04:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, I can verify that they are "real college chicks", as noted on the last Playboy thread.

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Wednesday, 3 September 2003 04:06 (twenty-one years ago)

There were a few IU students in the last one -- one of them is apparently an RA in the dorms, there are sporadic mentions of it on campus (the girlfriend picked it up for this reason and has decided to get me a subscription so she can read it).

... it's not like it's all that difficult to find college students willing to get naked.

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 3 September 2003 04:08 (twenty-one years ago)

What happened after she posed? I mean, can you imagine going into class when everyone's seen your puppies?

Calzer (Calzer), Wednesday, 3 September 2003 04:11 (twenty-one years ago)

No, I can't imagine it. Can you imagine it for us?

hstencil, Wednesday, 3 September 2003 04:12 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm from New Orleans. We call that "March."

Did the interview go like this?

INTERVIEWER: So, where are you all from?

Tep (ktepi), Friday, 5 September 2003 01:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Al Snow is cool.

Calzer (Calzer), Friday, 5 September 2003 06:14 (twenty-one years ago)

I was totally at a photo session for a picture that appears in the current issue ("Girls of the Big Ten") of Playboy, and I can say for a fact that the woman who they claim is a student was not enrolled in school at the time.

J (Jay), Friday, 5 September 2003 21:27 (twenty-one years ago)

J, you wouldn't happen to know what Playboy's means test (done to ensure that no one could say that they posed while in desperate need of money) consists of, would you?

Christine 'Green Leafy Dragon' Indigo (cindigo), Friday, 5 September 2003 22:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Is the Kueken in the escapes of the university of Playboy the really applicable Kueken of the university?

Leee (Leee), Friday, 5 September 2003 23:01 (twenty-one years ago)

I have no idea. Kinda funny that they have such a thing.

I didn't even know that the shoot was happening until I walked into the room. It was a bit unsettling, actually.

J (Jay), Saturday, 6 September 2003 00:57 (twenty-one years ago)

when I was in college a girl in my creative writing class was in the Girls of the Pac 10 issue. We certainly all knew about it but I can't remember who found out. She used a fake name but it did say she went to Berkeley. Her writing, incidentally, was horrendous, but she got LOADS of flak from our rather hack-y instructor who seemed really bothered by the fact that everyone in the class had seen this girl naked. It was weird. FWIW the picture was good and she was not half as attractive as it made her appear.

Justyn Dillingham (Justyn Dillingham), Saturday, 6 September 2003 11:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Sounds like the Yale I know.

Jesse Fuchs (Jesse Fuchs), Saturday, 6 September 2003 15:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Anthony, was it Prof. L0ewins0hn leading the workshop? He made mention in our class of a girl who was in one of his workshops who posed in the issue and that she wrote mostly soft pr0n.

Leee (Leee), Sunday, 7 September 2003 23:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Leee, yes! When were you in that class? This was, like, eight years ago. I have the story somewhere. It featured the fabulous sentence: "I was the beauty, wild, flowing; he was the container." (attempting to describe the narrator dancing with her man). No shit.

anthony kyle monday (akmonday), Sunday, 7 September 2003 23:12 (twenty-one years ago)

That would be Fall '01. Cocksucker He gave me a C. Did he have the cone of silence back then too?
