if this has been asked already, please refer me elsewhere.

my friend has a paid membership to suicide girls and she loves it. so far i'm not too impressed. it is not: very hot, very radical, or very artistic.

if you know anything about the site - your thoughts?

black plastic (black plastic), Friday, 5 September 2003 04:34 (twenty-two years ago)

it's porno. what the fuck do you want for $6 a month?

gabbo giftington (dubplatestyle), Friday, 5 September 2003 04:35 (twenty-two years ago)

it was something vaguely different and distracting for a few days but gabbo is OTM really

the surface noise (electricsound), Friday, 5 September 2003 04:37 (twenty-two years ago)

It seems to invite stalkers

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Friday, 5 September 2003 04:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I really, really want to be a Suicide Girl but I think I've gotten too fat and I don't have enough ink. :(

Texas, Biyatch! (thatgirl), Friday, 5 September 2003 04:38 (twenty-two years ago)

the ones with too many tattoos are nasty.

gabbo giftington (dubplatestyle), Friday, 5 September 2003 04:39 (twenty-two years ago)

In my really limited experience w/SG I didn't notice too many women who looked over 18, either.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Friday, 5 September 2003 04:40 (twenty-two years ago)

i don't like the interactive aspect.

the surface noise (electricsound), Friday, 5 September 2003 04:40 (twenty-two years ago)

The last issue of Clamor I picked up had an article on "punk porn." The radical nature of which apparently amounted to "jerk-off fodder that's not as conventionally attractive as mainstream."

If they'd said that Suicide Girls was collectively owned and everyone shared in the profits and blah blah blah (porno commune-stylee), then it becomes interesting. As it is, just another fetish. "Punk" women instead of "fat" women or 38DDs.

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Friday, 5 September 2003 04:40 (twenty-two years ago)

And since when did the "mainstream" hate dyed hair and piercings?

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Friday, 5 September 2003 04:42 (twenty-two years ago)

...except it makes more claims about itself than most six dollar porns do. the site advertises it as intelligent, artistic, and rebellious.

black plastic (black plastic), Friday, 5 September 2003 04:42 (twenty-two years ago)

and most porn advertises itself as erotic. your point is?

gabbo giftington (dubplatestyle), Friday, 5 September 2003 04:42 (twenty-two years ago)

not unlike the bluster that so-called "alternative" music spouts

(xp)

the surface noise (electricsound), Friday, 5 September 2003 04:43 (twenty-two years ago)

wait, there is an "'alternative' music"?

Kingfish (Kingfish), Friday, 5 September 2003 04:46 (twenty-two years ago)

that false advertising NEVER happens EXCEPT in relation to suicide girls

black plastic (black plastic), Friday, 5 September 2003 04:46 (twenty-two years ago)

i am honestly amazed that to date there is still no twee equivalent

the surface noise (electricsound), Friday, 5 September 2003 04:48 (twenty-two years ago)

"Look Smithers, Garbo is coming!"

very twee. very underage. not very naked

JasonD (JasonD), Friday, 5 September 2003 04:52 (twenty-two years ago)

i am honestly amazed that to date there is still no twee equivalent

'50s pinups?

It never occurred to me before that twee is the geeky little brother to the greaser aesthetic. The Beaver v. Marlon Brando in the Wild One.

(Ignoring the twee greaser contingent - paging James Dean)

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Friday, 5 September 2003 04:53 (twenty-two years ago)

ironically he's already here

the surface noise (electricsound), Friday, 5 September 2003 04:56 (twenty-two years ago)

50's pinups are twee? are you mental?

Texas, Biyatch! (thatgirl), Friday, 5 September 2003 04:57 (twenty-two years ago)

with my porn empire in place, i will soon have my "real boy" operation.

gabbo giftington (dubplatestyle), Friday, 5 September 2003 04:59 (twenty-two years ago)

no, 50s pinups are just another fetish.

gabbo giftington (dubplatestyle), Friday, 5 September 2003 04:59 (twenty-two years ago)

one of the less self-loathing-inducing ones

'Nuff said.

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Friday, 5 September 2003 05:01 (twenty-two years ago)

oh, i dunno, if i had a fetish which revolved around the period recreation of one of the worst era's in american history, i might have a little self-loathing in my heart.

gabbo giftington (dubplatestyle), Friday, 5 September 2003 05:02 (twenty-two years ago)

50's pinups are twee? are you mental?
No, but it was a riff on 'twee porn.'

However risque pinups might be, I can get by wearing one of my shirts with a Varga-style image on it. I couldn't wander around town wearing a shirt with penetration or "hot girl-on-girl action."

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Friday, 5 September 2003 05:04 (twenty-two years ago)

give it time.

gabbo giftington (dubplatestyle), Friday, 5 September 2003 05:04 (twenty-two years ago)

oh, i dunno, if i had a fetish which revolved around the period recreation of one of the worst era's in american history, i might have a little self-loathing in my heart.

But you'd have a hard time finding any era in American history to recreate that wasn't hell for a lot of people.

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Friday, 5 September 2003 05:05 (twenty-two years ago)

oh, i dunno, if i had a fetish which revolved around the period recreation of one of the worst era's in american history, i might have a little self-loathing in my heart.

well yeah, less- rather than non-

the surface noise (electricsound), Friday, 5 September 2003 05:05 (twenty-two years ago)

give it time.
Now that's a vision for America.

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Friday, 5 September 2003 05:06 (twenty-two years ago)

yes, this is why i choose to live in the present.

gabbo giftington (dubplatestyle), Friday, 5 September 2003 05:07 (twenty-two years ago)

"best of all possible worlds."

gabbo giftington (dubplatestyle), Friday, 5 September 2003 05:07 (twenty-two years ago)

well, i dont CHOOSE to live in the present, but the notion of personal time machines is enough to give james cameron's writing team night sweats.

gabbo giftington (dubplatestyle), Friday, 5 September 2003 05:09 (twenty-two years ago)

"live the Good Life in the offworld colonies!"

Kingfish (Kingfish), Friday, 5 September 2003 05:09 (twenty-two years ago)

My present is partly made up of idealization of certain elements of past eras. I love my present!

Texas, Biyatch! (thatgirl), Friday, 5 September 2003 05:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't work out what my present is and her birthday's in eight days!

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Friday, 5 September 2003 05:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Phil 2 to thread - you don't want to miss an opportunity to bitch about Ar*k D*v*ns, do you?

(the said person, who Phil does not like very much, is also an SG member. This is what he told me about it once.)

caitlin (caitlin), Saturday, 6 September 2003 09:09 (twenty-two years ago)

i wrote an angry letter to spin about their story on sg. i dunno why. basically wondering aloud why porn for guys consists of naked chicks and porn for girls is, uh, more naked chicks. well, that was one of the angles of the story - that sg and the crop of new "alternative" porn is for girls too. and then i ended by suggesting they publish more photos of the strokes kissing.

but the point is, by and large it seems guys get turned on by looking at girls and girls get turned on by guys looking at them. i mean the 'post-feminist' phenomenons of female sexual expression doesn't seem to be naked guys or new pornography, but stuff like suicide girls and burlesque and madonna. when women are in control they don't switch it and make guys grovel naked on the floor, they just seem to want people to look at them. it's so egocentric though and i can't imagine how it's anything but a big bore to every other (heterosexual) lady.

lolita corpus (lolitacorpus), Sunday, 7 September 2003 02:30 (twenty-two years ago)

...except Emma Forrest.

Wyndham Earl, Sunday, 7 September 2003 15:48 (twenty-two years ago)

two months pass...
I look at the free parts sometimes.

I've got a friend who subscribes to suicide girls and she gets a lot out of it.

Also, I know another girl who subscribes, and she is hotter than most of the models. I need to ask her why.

mei (mei), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 07:47 (twenty-one years ago)

[everything ever written about suicide girls by anyone] (that's a good thing)

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 07:48 (twenty-one years ago)

why aren't these alleged "suicide girls" dead? not to be a disgusting realist or anything, but come on; either you are or you aren't.............

Emilymv (Emilymv), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 08:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Emma Forrest was my childhood playmate! My mum's her agent! Small world etc.

So, do guys get off on girls getting off on guys looking at them naked?

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 11:59 (twenty-one years ago)

"emma forrest"

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 12:01 (twenty-one years ago)
