gabbneb (gabbneb), Sunday, 7 September 2003 12:59 (twenty-two years ago)

I wish death upon the first person who says 'pineapple'.

I was about to say pineapple. Sorry, Julio. Instead, I'll say thick crust, chicken, pesto, extra cheese. (Sam's Club has a delicious pizza with these ingredients. Well, no thick crust, unfortunately.)

As long as the 'livery dude comes in an ilXor t-shirt, s/he may bring me rottenburgers for all I care.

WHY THE HELL ARE THERE NO ILXOR T-SHIRTS? I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO WEAR ONE SO THAT I CAN DECLARE MY LOVE FOR ALL OF YOU TO THE WORLD!

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Sunday, 7 September 2003 14:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I have been going to my local Mellow sort of frequently since I realized I am friends with 90% of the staff (surprise surprise, right). I usually just get hummus and beers (KY Ale Bourbon Barrel).

i have seen a mellow mushroom in asheville come to think of it

i always get a gross vibe from the mellow mush, not like the food is gross but like the place is about to be shut down

good sandwiches there

being rich would be the best (roxymuzak), Sunday, 23 November 2008 23:57 (seventeen years ago)

Mellow Mushroom can NOT be worse than:
Pizza Hut
Little Caesars
Domino's
California Pizza Kitchen
Sbarro

Hell, it's probably better than Papa John(?). We need a Mellow Mushroom dominion to find out.

Yeah, Mellow Mushroom is all over the south. Go to their website. I think half of the site is like pseudo HR Pufnstuf type cartoons.

HI, YOUR BAND! (Mackro Mackro), Monday, 24 November 2008 18:02 (seventeen years ago)

oh man I typed CPK and I threw up in my mouth a little

CPK = Quizno's of pizza?

HI, YOUR BAND! (Mackro Mackro), Monday, 24 November 2008 18:04 (seventeen years ago)

California Pizza Kitchen: C/D?

(lol at Elvis Telecom post about "CPK" the acronym)

HI, YOUR BAND! (Mackro Mackro), Monday, 24 November 2008 18:05 (seventeen years ago)

CPK = Quizno's of pizza?

my God, YES

Black Seinfeld (HI DERE), Monday, 24 November 2008 18:45 (seventeen years ago)

I don't like their regular pizzas or their sandwiches, but if you go into a full CPK (and I have only been to three in LA and not ASAP which is just bad), the thin crust "Neapolitan" pizzas are good. The salads are fine too.

Spencer Chow, Monday, 24 November 2008 19:06 (seventeen years ago)

neapolitan!?!??!

being rich would be the best (roxymuzak), Wednesday, 26 November 2008 00:44 (seventeen years ago)

Mellow Mushroom is tasty. It's no NY thin crust don't get me wrong, but it's leagues above your Pizza Hut/Domino's/Papa John's/Shakey's etc. The crust, while not a "proper" crust, is a decent enough take on crust to pass.

ten months pass...

you can track your order when u order online with dominos, and POST IT TO YOUR FACEBOOK.
Joe left the restaurant with my pizza at 12:04, after Chris double-checked it for quality starting at 11:57. What happened in that seven minutes? Do you think they spat in my pizza cuz it's so late? tbh i filled out the order form assuming they were already closed and kind of feel bad for makin them bring me a pizza.

ian, Monday, 12 October 2009 04:11 (sixteen years ago)

i wld unfriend that person for eating dominos

tehresa, Monday, 12 October 2009 04:13 (sixteen years ago)

bighoos (steen) (J0rdan S.), Monday, 12 October 2009 04:24 (sixteen years ago)

I had the best fucking slice of pizza today. Mozzarella, pesto, pine nuts, grilled chicken, sun-dried tomato.

It is 1:30 in the morning and I am still haunted by the memory of the second slice of pizza, the last one left from that awesome, godlike pie that I did not take home with me. I have the munchies something awful and all there is in my apartment is a can of artichoke hearts and some almond butter.

More Butty In Your Pants (Telephone thing), Monday, 12 October 2009 05:38 (sixteen years ago)

one year passes...

oh my god i'm so starving and the pizza is taking AGES and maybe they've gone to the wrong place because the phone call dropped out twice?

Not the real Village People, Saturday, 5 February 2011 04:15 (fourteen years ago)

It was a bit of a rollercoaster but I made it through. Guy called to say he couldn't find the address so while I was telling it him again my phone dropped out AGAIN. Fuck you T-Mobile! I called back, he was 5 mins away, it was all ok. Had time to put the kettle on in advance, so it's not all bad. I ate that pizza in about 3 mins flat though.

Not the real Village People, Saturday, 5 February 2011 19:37 (fourteen years ago)

nice

wait, kettle what now? you had tea with your pizza?? or is that some expression that just flew over my head

dell (del), Saturday, 5 February 2011 19:51 (fourteen years ago)

But of course! box o' pizza, big mug o' tea, can't go wrong.

Not the real Village People, Saturday, 5 February 2011 21:02 (fourteen years ago)

dell (del), Saturday, 5 February 2011 21:12 (fourteen years ago)

dell (del), Saturday, 5 February 2011 21:13 (fourteen years ago)

two years pass...

There are other reasons for the racism: the legacy of fascism and the continuing adulation of Benito Mussolini; the tangible insecurity, even sense of inferiority, of many Italians; widespread economic misery for at least the last decade; and a political class that is absurdly ignorant. But perhaps the most interesting explanation for racism comes from an Italian mate of mine who's an armchair anthropologist. He maintains that in a country that is famously lawless, in which rules are often wilfully ignored, everyone is oddly very conformist in other ways: all wearing the same fashionable colour, or eating the same food at the same festivals. Italy simply isn't a country of eccentricity, or a place where difference or diversity are accepted, let alone cherished. I once tried to experiment by putting an unorthodox topping on my pizza and was harangued by irate mates as if I'd committed a terrible crime.
