And the question is the most you made IN A SINGLE JACKPOT, not over the course of a whole night or whatever ....

Other than that, I've hit $350 on a $10 roulette bet a few times.
The year the casinos in Shreveport opened, my grandmother hit a slot machine for $12,000. That's the biggest jackpot by anyone I've met.

The first two nights there, I barely hit the tables at all. I was more interested in watching (and wagering) on the basketball; but more importantly, I didn't know how to play any of these daunting games!
The last night, I watched as my friend skillfully played craps, trying hard to take in this most confusing of games. Finally, I decided to join in. I started with about a hundred bucks in chips - this was a $5 table - totally expecting to lose it all, but wanting a little action.
I was basically mimicking my friends moves at first, until I had built up a little stash of chips. Then, this totally cliched Japanese gambler character starts to roll. And he could not roll a seven! I mean, it was unbelievable!! I upped my pass line bet to $25. This guy would roll and roll and roll. This guy would establish every point, and I'd back 'em all up with full odds. And then, one by one, he'd pick 'em all off. The money was rolling in .. it was un-fucking-believable. A once in a lifetime occurrence. About a half-hour later, he finally rolls a seven, and I walked away from the table with about $2000.
I totally got bitten by the gambling bug after that. In fact, I've returned to Vegas just about every March since then. But I've never, never had another experience like that.

My father can't gamble at the larger casinos in Reno anymore ... he plays (or played) high-stakes 21 and counts (counted) cards. Pisses me off. I refuse to play any games with him now. Anyway, now he and I go and play the slots and hit some of the other tables, but no 21. *sigh*
