i've taken the day of work coz i don't feel well at all. however i feel pretty guilty coz it's a lovely day, a cheque has just landed on the doorstep for freelance work which will pay for my upcoming holiday, i'm still in my dressing gown, drinking tea and listening to otis redding and carla thomas. while feeling rough, i'm quite happy and am actually making the best of the circumstances to the extent that i'm having a good time - is this wrong?!

I wish people would say 'ill' not 'sick'. I thought this was a thread about enjoying vomiting and was about to remark that ILE had hit rock bottom.

not wrong at all, last time this happened i had an amazing friday. i wasnt sick however, I had been out the night before.

I think I'd take any minor illness to miss a few days of work, I hate this job a bit, like any other job I've had, though not as much as some. Laziness is a perpetual sickness.

Thank you, gentlemen. Ronan, do you want to expand upon just what was so amazing about *that* Friday?

yeah, did you swap places with Jodie Foster in a zany but heartfelt adventure that finally let you relate to each other better since you spent a day in each other's bodies?

and be sure to apologize to Mrs Schmaus.

It's not wrong at for YOU to feel good about having the day off work, but it does say something about the grind, eh? I got a five-day weekend when my head got infected because part of my wisdom tooth fell off before i even realized it needed to be out and I loved every minute of it and want to get them all out now... which of course made me realize I have to become independently wealthy or will continue sliding down the slope into bat-shit insane.

I like being ill! After I get over panicking about all the work type things that I need to do, I realise: I'm ill dammit, and I genuinely have a LEGIT EXCUSE! (instead of this just being "me procrastinating" as usual) After that, it's all carefree, complete lack of responsibility for the rest of the illness. Then if I was really sick and away for a long time and come back with some lingering symptom ie. hacking bronchial cough etc., I might even get a bit of sympathy and get out of doing a presentation or somesuch.
