can anyone please help me out here?

There's a guy from Michigan I have known via another MB for about two years now. He's a grandad, in his early 70s, one of the Good Guys. He's just been diagnosed with oesophageal cancer and the prognosis is not good. I spoke to him today, and he's going back into hospital tomorrow for chemotherapy.

He's a great churchgoer, though I'm not sure of his religion. I'm guessing Roman Catholic. I would really like to include a quotation from the bible next time I email him - something comforting, or to give him strength in times of adversity, that sort of thing. I think it would mean a lot to him at a time when he is clearly frightened by what the future holds for him.

I'm not familiar enough with the bible to know any suitable passages, but I'm sure the collective brilliance that is ILX might be able to point me in the right direction, and for that I'd be extremely grateful :)

(Sorry this seems to be such a sad topic).

Psalm 23 is the classic here, esp. in the KJV
