Comments:When I was in highschool, My aunt started dating a man who had 3 girls of his own.When they got serious it was time for our two families to meet.It was kind of awkward, I don't think the girls were too comfortable with the idea that their dad was with another woman.Crissy and Cheryl were about my age and Suzy was about 3 years old. So, there we were, trying to find some common ground. I put Paradise Theatre into the tape player and next thing I knew Crissy and Cheryl were sittng next to me singing along.Suzy was so funny, She would sing along with the "watcha doin" She would sing along with the "woas" in She Cares. Then she would run and hide when J.Y.s intro to snowblind would come on.It was so much fun watching her sing and dance around to the songs.We ended up spending most of the day on the hammock listening to Styx .....Sadly,Suzy was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1998. She was 19 years old. She was in a great place in her life, she was in the Marines,and had just earned her first stripe.One of her officers pinned it on her in her casket. She was killed the day before it was to be presented to her.She was so full of life, it's a shame that things ended up this way. When I saw "The Boys" do Snowblind in Poughkeepsie, it brought a tear to my eye.Then I just smiled. This is a wonderful memory to have.One more reason why this band means so much to me...

In 1981, the state legislature of California accused Styx accused of backmasking satanic messages in Snowblind. They contended that the line "I try so hard to make it so" from the introductory verse sung by JY sounded like "Oh Satan move through our voices" when played backwards. Styx responded to these false allegations by releasing their next album, Kilroy Was Here, as a concept album and accompanying movie about a dark future in which Rock & Roll music is banned by a society where censorship has been allowed to restrict free expression.
