Are you kidding? I always feel like my IQ goes down 100 points whenever I post here. I get these wonderful posts in my head and end up posting one-line jokes instead.

Well, I feel my perceived IQ dropping whenever I come here, too, but only because I feel as though I'm so surrounded by people who know so much more about the things I care about the most that I'm thinking, "Ok, I'm obviously a duncehead."

The real answer is 'fundamental insecurity'... not that it applies to everyone, I don't suppose... but I recall trying to do this a bit myself (due to fundamental insecurity) until I realised how boring, pathetic and futile it was.
