two weeks pass...

so, anyway, it's comin up this saturday.

i'm not going to assume j0hn will have the time to check here while on tour and meet up with us any ol' time, but i figure it's a good idea if we meet up somewhere in downtown ballard... where the tractor tavern is.. just IN CASE j0hn has some spare time to walk around the neighborhood circa soundcheck. there are a number of places we can meet up, have a drink, have dinner, or both, nearby.

i figure matos is in. i'm guessing jen and martin are in, but they're in the middle of the country right now in a uhaul, so hopefully we'll hear from them very soon. lyra? ronny? js? piuma? anyone else?

I'll try to talk with J0hn at the PDX show, despite my debilitating shyness, and see if there's any plans for a plan. Or to pass along plans if they are figured out first.

chris, you can stay at my place if you want.. just keep in mind i'm volunteering dibs on the couch for j0hn on his behalf if he so wishes it, for obv reasons. but i also have a spare futon as well, so you would not go cushionless.

there are a lot of uppity pub type places just doors away from the tractor (*insert snide peter bagge illustrations on gentrified ballard here*)... i don't know them offhand, and i've never been to any of them. i know there's a place called noodles that's alright (as it was the one that used to be in fremont but moved) And at the very worst, there's a Sam's Sushi up on market st., on the north side, and i think matos and i can vouch for that being a good enough place to dine, based on the lower queen anne Sam's sushi.

OK! So I talked to Jen yesterday, and she told me there's a decent place to eat near the venue called Hattie's Hat, or something like that. I've been warned there may not be too much in the form of veggie items, but if there's at least one decent veggie thing on the menu, I'll go with it.. anyone here been there before?

Here's the location of Hattie's Hat and the Tractor Tavern. As you can see, they are practically right next to each other.. so i think this is a good choice. I called and they at least have garden burgers, portabella muchroom sandwiches, etc. for the vegetronic amongst us.

Those taking the bus there will find the 17 to be the best option. The last bus out of Ballard back to downtown tomorrow seems to be 12:45am, so get yer cab fare ready just in case J0hn leads us past last call...(oooooo yeah)

Want to try and meet at Hattie's Hat at 7pm tomorrow?

Hey, Jen and I are indeed coming, and I've got good news from the front as well... Hattie's Hat offers a 50% discount if you have a ticket to an event at the Tractor and are seated before 8pm. So, if anyone was planning to get a ticket at the door, it'd be wise to do it before dinner instead.

The Portland show was indescribably great. I made sure J0hn knew about the Seattle FAP but he wasn't sure if he would be able to make it. So no high hopes there. But he and Peter sound wonderful. And I think I finally found a ride up to Seattle, so there might be a few more people joining us (but they have another place to crash, so your home won't be flooded, db).

Anyway hopefully this will all work out well tomorrow.
