i wouldnt try to make a move on her or shit, my thing for her is on a deeper spiritual level

duane, Saturday, 13 September 2003 12:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Isn't she dead yet?

duane, would you call her a bitch, or a dirty-ass ho?

My appweciation of Wembwandt and Wubens started with Sister W and I get vewy wiled and vewy angwy when people wubbish her.

More seriously, she is one of those TV stars that breaks absolutely all the many rules that notoriously anal-retentive medium holds dear, and for that reason she is absolutely priceless.

classic, just for the somewhat surreal spectacle she provides

"goodneth, what a magnifithent buthst"

Best criticism of Rembrandt, from a woman behind me when at the Rembrandt portraits show at the RA not so long ago: "I used to think I quite liked Rembrandt, but then I decided there was too much brown." Her male companion's reply (how these two ended up at the RA together I can't imagine): "I quite like the Impressionists."

Sister Wendy was great, but she hasn't been on TV in years.

I'm amazed she to discover she really exists. I thought she was just a character in a chapter of Headway, the textbook for learners of English.

jel she's on again over here right now! (last night)

heresy

Her sexual repression comes through often when describing certain paintings. That alone is worth watching the program, to hear her randomly bring up a sexual angle of a painting I'd never even thought of in sexual terms. Quite hilarious.

Yay! Sister Wendy rocks so hard it hurts.

Girolamo, I love it when her eyes start shining as she picks up on the sexuality of a painting. Ravished by God, indeed.

I do a pretty good sister Wendy impression, which I whip out at art galleries until I am told to shut up and stop being so annoying.

Sister Wendy rocks! I can't think of a better thing than the Art Nun [tm] program on a rainy evening with a glass a port. I love it when she points out the "sensual curves and mighty lust" of figures in paintings, wotta juxtaposition!

haven't any of you seen those behind-convent-walls movies?
