The I.O.C. Gatsby dresses are awesome. I've never really liked Marc Jacobs, his stuff looks kinda washed-out to me. Prouenza Schouler are TOP! check it

So far, my favorite collection for womenswear is Yeohlee, for menswear it's probably Thom Browne.

sure, I love this stuff.. Haven't seen anything that was my cup of tea but only looked at a few shows thus far.. I do not like Erin Fetherson's style at all. Should look at Rag & Bone again I think that was good.

not loving proenza schouler this time. and suddenly I am stunned by just how skinny the models have become http://www.elle.com/assets/image/2008/W6/020420082351197105.jpg

nice stuff by dior
isn't it always Fashion Week in Bryant Park?
Blow up the industry, and boil and eat the designers. Aristocratic fucking garbage, no place for it in the New Depression. I have no idea how these people sleep at night.

Talk about the most transparently bullshit planned obsolescence, ie, high fashion + one year = bad fashion.

it's just an industry, and it has its traditions the way any industry does. it doesn't have to mean much more than that.

I am really excited for a friend of mine who is an aspiring stylist and photographer. She's working fashion week as a dresser and spent the afternoon with Gwen S (who she <3s) and Gavin R. yesterday at the L.A.M.B. presentation. This is seriously a dream come true for her and most be such an awesome experience.

^LOOOOOOOOOOOOL
The older I get, the less annoyed I become with the way the fashion system works. It frankly does bother me that it's basically every person that was ever picked on in school organizing themselves like courtiers in the age of the sun king (pretentious, outdated social model), but surprising people within the industry are a lot cooler than you'd expect. Obviously because of my job I know most of the best photographers and stylists and they are never the idiots, it's always their hangers-on or the agents or PRs or whatever; special place in hell for the sort of PR who starts moving goalposts when you've turned up to do an interview that's been arranged by someone more important. Last time this happened, PR tried to emotionally blackmail me into less time w/a model because the model's child was fluey and actually said 'I don't know if you've got children...' as the opener in bid for compliance. No sale, model was oblivious to the machinations and wound up giving me double the time I'd originally thought I'd need because we just sat there giggling together and going off on tangents.
I interviewed Gwen once and from what I could work out about her in that limited context, she was funny and nice.
