Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 25 September 2003 00:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm not sure this weirdness can be entirely explained away by plastic surgery.

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Thursday, 25 September 2003 00:59 (twenty-two years ago)

No, on the other hand, I'm just going to try to convince myself that's really Ali Campbell from UB40.

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Thursday, 25 September 2003 01:02 (twenty-two years ago)

which one is Axl????

(i know the answer but i wish i were wrong)

Dave M. (rotten03), Thursday, 25 September 2003 01:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Ned, you just made me crack up loudly in front of patrons at work. Good job.

You sir, are a god.

Kim (Kim), Thursday, 25 September 2003 01:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Separated at birth?

Annouschka Magnatech (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 25 September 2003 01:19 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll never understand these photos of normal folx with celebrities. It's always beaming commoners surrounding a guy whose face screams "anywhere but here." Why on earth would I want a memento of the time that I made someone whose work I enjoy dutifully pose for a lifeless photo? Unless the star displays the slightest bit of enthusiasm, I don't know why one would want to look at the damn thing.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Thursday, 25 September 2003 01:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Celebrities should take a lesson from Rip: look guh-RATEFUL!

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Thursday, 25 September 2003 01:25 (twenty-two years ago)

He looks like a botox-ed alien cat who was way into the Battlefield Earth movie!

Nicolars (Nicole), Thursday, 25 September 2003 01:29 (twenty-two years ago)

There had to be at least one fan or two of that thing.

The pic is from the ever godly Metal Sludge, namely this week's Stupid Weekly Poll, about which rock star (past or present) has the worst wig. Other instances:

http://www.metal-sludge.com/BretWig.jpg

http://www.metal-sludge.com/GeneWig.jpg

And if you thought this was bad, off to the previous week's poll...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 25 September 2003 02:00 (twenty-two years ago)

How is Vincent from Beauty and the Beast a rock star?

Tep (ktepi), Thursday, 25 September 2003 02:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Stretch the definition.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 25 September 2003 02:04 (twenty-two years ago)

that's what she said!

cinniblount (James Blount), Thursday, 25 September 2003 02:05 (twenty-two years ago)

hey-o!

cinniblount (James Blount), Thursday, 25 September 2003 02:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I love you. (BTW, tried to send you an e-mail but it bounced?)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 25 September 2003 02:07 (twenty-two years ago)

considering what steven adler's been thru he's actually held up pretty well

cinniblount (James Blount), Thursday, 25 September 2003 02:07 (twenty-two years ago)

it bounced?

cinniblount (James Blount), Thursday, 25 September 2003 02:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Interesting that they picked the one who has a "punk" looking pic as the one who has aged worst.

Chris P (Chris P), Thursday, 25 September 2003 02:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Excite mail say it no like you none or something. Which was odd.

Interesting that they picked the one who has a "punk" looking pic as the one who has aged worst.

While the Mohawk didn't help, there were clearly other reasons...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 25 September 2003 02:10 (twenty-two years ago)

he got fat (jani lane's gonna lose just about any metal sludge poll also)

maybe change the subject or something, after sobig and blaster my filters are like athens clarke county police looking for jolly ranchers in double barrelled cannons (ie. vigilant).

cinniblount (James Blount), Thursday, 25 September 2003 02:11 (twenty-two years ago)

I got my dean meetup e-mail so it's workin like a merkin

cinniblount (James Blount), Thursday, 25 September 2003 02:13 (twenty-two years ago)

I shall reattempt.

Separated at birth?

I actually love this because Rose is a notorious Radiohead fiend. My theory is he's been basically paralyzed between that and NIN and just can't get it together to record anything anymore (or rather does, then hates it and won't release it).

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 25 September 2003 02:15 (twenty-two years ago)

jani lane's gonna lose just about any metal sludge poll also

Which is interesting because he's actually been one of the best interview subjects they've ever had -- got him three times now and they always ask him a slew of shit that he more or less answers directly! Alas he seems pretty fucked up in general...

It failed again, that mail! Look here:

*various technical details removed to be on the safe side*

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 25 September 2003 02:18 (twenty-two years ago)

his efforts to contemporize g'n'f'n'r are like tantalus or something

cinniblount (James Blount), Thursday, 25 September 2003 02:20 (twenty-two years ago)

are you mailing it to littlejohnnyjewel at excite.com?

cinniblount (James Blount), Thursday, 25 September 2003 02:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I is. I tried sending it via another method, hopefully this will work.

his efforts to contemporize g'n'f'n'r are like tantalus or something

Haha! Well, that or Sisyphus?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 25 September 2003 02:22 (twenty-two years ago)

SUCCESS!

cinniblount (James Blount), Thursday, 25 September 2003 02:22 (twenty-two years ago)

*merry*

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 25 September 2003 02:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Kingfish (Kingfish), Thursday, 25 September 2003 05:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Clothing - any type of clothing - in orange is a MAJOR DUD. So uh the t-shirt is appropriate for him.

nathalie (nathalie), Thursday, 25 September 2003 06:56 (twenty-two years ago)

i see i'm far too late to be making any Predator jokes, dammit

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 25 September 2003 08:35 (twenty-two years ago)

the chick in the Axl photo is cute, she reminds me of PJ Katie, who was on YTV when I was in High School, and on whom I had a big crush.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Thursday, 25 September 2003 13:44 (twenty-two years ago)

That dude next to Axl looks like he's trying to squeeze one out and not succeeding.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 25 September 2003 13:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Wait, blindingly bright orange t-shirts are stone cold classic! Although not this t-shirt in particular...

Chris P (Chris P), Thursday, 25 September 2003 14:05 (twenty-two years ago)

MY GOD!!!!!!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 25 September 2003 14:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I dreamt that "Chinese Democracy" finally got released. This made me quite sad, I mean I sorta take comfort that in an ever changing world there is always the hope that the new Guns N' Roses album will be released (though in yr heart of hearts you don't think it will be, or won't ever be)

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 25 September 2003 15:37 (twenty-two years ago)

are you talking about that ever changing world in which we live in?

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Thursday, 25 September 2003 15:53 (twenty-two years ago)

www.janechild.com has all the answers!!! To everything!!

lawrence kansas (lawrence kansas), Thursday, 25 September 2003 16:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Apparently Axl has just remembered the main rule of Rock Star 101: "When an older has-been, follow the fashion" (even though Jonathan Davis has worn it badly, in the first place.)

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Thursday, 25 September 2003 21:56 (twenty-two years ago)

perhaps I'm overinterpreting, but his look says 'cool mom on vacation in the bahamas, still wearing her sleepshirt, got her hair braided on the beach by a nice young man' to me.

the tune was space, Sunday, 29 December 2013 19:22 (eleven years ago)

It's a weave. The old wifebeater has been losing his hair for decades.
