Elvis Telecom (Chris Barrus), Thursday, 25 September 2003 21:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Wow, that's not even a novelization, is it?

Annouschka Magnatech (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 25 September 2003 22:05 (twenty-two years ago)

"Heeaaaathcliff, it's meee Catheee, stop staring at my tits"

Matt (Matt), Thursday, 25 September 2003 22:06 (twenty-two years ago)

You are fucking kidding me. I weep for the future of America.

Dragging Out The Jaws of Life (Dee the Lurker), Thursday, 25 September 2003 22:07 (twenty-two years ago)

What's with Doogie Van Der Howser on the right there?

Annouschka Magnatech (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 25 September 2003 22:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Such a weird cover for Wuthering Heights. Though I remember seeing the novelization of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein on the shelves, under that name.

s1utsky (slutsky), Thursday, 25 September 2003 22:10 (twenty-two years ago)

(under the name Mary Shelley's Frankenstein that is)

s1utsky (slutsky), Thursday, 25 September 2003 22:10 (twenty-two years ago)

I was about to say that in light of events the cover of Underworld by Don Delillo trumps all, but this one comes close.

ham on rye (ham on rye), Thursday, 25 September 2003 22:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Looks like The Real World: The Moors.

Layna Andersen (Layna Andersen), Thursday, 25 September 2003 22:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Isn't that Jon from S-Club 7 on the right? Blimey!

jel -- (jel), Friday, 26 September 2003 16:57 (twenty-two years ago)

It looks like Doogie Howser and Hyde from the 70s show had a baby together.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 26 September 2003 17:04 (twenty-two years ago)

withering heights for sure

Too Late, Friday, 26 September 2003 17:06 (twenty-two years ago)

here are a few more depressing covers, just for your viewing pleasure

Kingfish (Kingfish), Friday, 26 September 2003 17:09 (twenty-two years ago)

hey, look at this

Annouschka Magnatech (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 26 September 2003 17:12 (twenty-two years ago)

uhm, you didn't want to do that. one of the mods will hopefully be along to deeplink that.

Somethingawful's image server doesn't like people doing offsite image-linking. Tranny image in 3...2...1...

Kingfish (Kingfish), Friday, 26 September 2003 17:14 (twenty-two years ago)

It looks like Doogie Howser and Hyde from the 70s show had a baby together.

Good eye Horace. That's cause that guy is the brother of the guy who plays Hyde. He's on that other show, Malcolm in the Middle.

Kim (Kim), Friday, 26 September 2003 17:20 (twenty-two years ago)

You mean Malcolm in the Middle, M.D., right?

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 26 September 2003 17:30 (twenty-two years ago)

That would be a great show.

Kim (Kim), Friday, 26 September 2003 17:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Jesus fucking Christ, that cover is MADDENING. Pop culture is eating everything. Someone give me a gun.

Jeanne Fury (Jeanne Fury), Friday, 26 September 2003 17:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, fucking Bronte sisters, with their pop culture!

Tep (ktepi), Friday, 26 September 2003 18:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Wuthering Heights is probably one of my favorite books of all time, but that cover is just so horrible and wrong that it's funny! It didn't depress me, it just made me chuckle.

Nicolars (Nicole), Friday, 26 September 2003 18:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Have you seen their Pepsi commercial? They look hot with their new boob jobs and they kiss each other.

NA (Nick A.), Friday, 26 September 2003 18:12 (twenty-two years ago)

HOTT BRONTE-ON-BRONTE ACTION

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 26 September 2003 20:46 (twenty-two years ago)

The inspiration for the MTV original film

Whomever was responsible for that tag line should be extraordinarily ashamed of themselves.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 26 September 2003 20:50 (twenty-two years ago)

that traffic girl sucks

s1utsky (slutsky), Friday, 26 September 2003 20:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't think it's depressing at all, unless they've changed the text.

Tom (Groke), Friday, 26 September 2003 20:58 (twenty-two years ago)

textist!

--, Friday, 26 September 2003 21:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Fifteen or twenty years ago, when I would've been the target audience for this, it would've been an abridged, modernized, or completely changed version between the covers. I can't find a damn thing to be depressed about.

Tep (ktepi), Friday, 26 September 2003 21:14 (twenty-two years ago)

(The movie itself is probably another story, mind you. In both senses, I guess.)

Tep (ktepi), Friday, 26 September 2003 21:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Shocking expose of Malahide life!

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 29 September 2003 08:28 (twenty-two years ago)
