a smorgesboard of guests, a familiar, usually friendly but sometimes cheeky/irreverant /gay/weight-outta-control/old/sleezy/multiply-married 'interviewer' , audience members that queue up for weeks to get a seat, and questions that aim, ultimately, to either revive the quest's or interviewer's careers, or, if they have a careers to speak of, to mindlessly solidify them.
