How many of us believe that our lives will inevitably get better?

How many believe that MY LIFE will inevitably get better (needing reassurance that I will one day get off this treadmill)?

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 1 October 2003 20:10 (twenty-one years ago)

I firmly believe that my work life will be fantastic in say, eight years time. I have nothing to support this but blind faith.

adaml (adaml), Wednesday, 1 October 2003 20:14 (twenty-one years ago)

and a sense of entitlement?

Cuz that's all I got.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 1 October 2003 20:16 (twenty-one years ago)

I hope it will, but I have a sinking feeling it will not.

Nicolars (Nicole), Wednesday, 1 October 2003 20:17 (twenty-one years ago)

one day they get better. the day you die

this is OTM. besides, i thought the general consensus was that life gets worse as you get older.

ryan (ryan), Wednesday, 1 October 2003 20:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Based on the past couple of days of my job hunt and the fact that I am getting out of the USAF on November 22, I can't really imagine a tomorrow that's not better than this one. I had no idea I looked so good on paper.

TOMBOT, Wednesday, 1 October 2003 20:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I've no choice BUT to believe tomorrow will be better: must be more to life than incessant sunshine, shit transportation and stress.

(Sure, tis optimism. But that makes me rise out of bed every morning)

I have a pretty good idea it's getting better.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Wednesday, 1 October 2003 21:29 (twenty-one years ago)

I used to feel a lot more optimistic about the future than I do now.

Sean (Sean), Wednesday, 1 October 2003 21:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 1 October 2003 22:11 (twenty-one years ago)

I went to high school with Roger Fan, of _Better Luck Tomorrow_ and _The Quest for Length_ fame. Cool guy. Fast swimmer.

Colin Saunders (csaunders), Wednesday, 1 October 2003 22:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 1 October 2003 22:56 (twenty-one years ago)

isn't the "dude, that's a MILF" guy from American Pie in that also?

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 1 October 2003 22:59 (twenty-one years ago)

I secretly hold hope that tomorrow will be better than today, but I don't voice that openly because I don't want to curse anything. I learned by the time I was about 14 or 15 that if I openly express optimism in regards to future events, the worst case scenario will happen in regards to those events, so I hold at best cautious optimism when it comes to possibly positive events that might be coming my way.

Legendary Nothingness (Dee the Lurker), Thursday, 2 October 2003 00:18 (twenty-one years ago)

just knock on wood!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Thursday, 2 October 2003 00:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh yeah, I believe that tomorrow will be a better day. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 2 October 2003 16:25 (twenty-one years ago)

well, it's tomorrow again.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 3 October 2003 14:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Tomorrow will be a better day because if it's not what the hell's the point in going on then? It will also be a better day because it will be Saturday.
