either way surely among the more mesmerizing cinematic moments of the past thirty years

I like the idea that when you die you glide down a shiny black and silver hallway filled with fluorescent lights and electric fans to the embrace of a young Jessica Lange

also, I know that the cw is that Cabaret and Lenny are better movies but neither of them hold me/fascinate me/whatever the way All That Jazz does

and I like Cabaret alot

Classic. No moment in either Cabaret or Lenny is as classic as this moment from this film... well, that's probably a stretch. Actually, I really really love the "Air-Otica" sequence the best, and not just for the nudiness.

I am so mad that my local video store doesn't have this. I have to make do with just the soundtrack.

Based on memories going back 30+ years--which isn't fair--concur completely.

clemenza, Sunday, 27 May 2012 13:03 (thirteen years ago)

Felt the same way at the same time as clemenza, but when I expressed this opinion back then was told "do not watch if you hate the dance"

I skipped through very quickly. I don't know, Roy Scheider in sequins...I need a shark. And my heart goes out to the Everlys.

clemenza, Sunday, 27 May 2012 13:51 (thirteen years ago)

either a shark or a car driving underneath a semi.

Ian Hunter Is Learning the Game (James Redd and the Blecchs), Sunday, 27 May 2012 14:10 (thirteen years ago)

Anyway, there is enough unchecked egoism on the screen here to make Robbie Robertson in The Last Waltz look like a shrinking violet

Ian Hunter Is Learning the Game (James Redd and the Blecchs), Sunday, 27 May 2012 14:23 (thirteen years ago)

its an exploration of uncheck egoism
