I sang karaoke last night.

For the first time [en masse singalongs notwithstanding]. 'Be My Baby' and 'Jolene' and later a miscalculated drunken 'Money Money Money'. It was fun!

So how is/was your weekend? Juicy gossip please.

Good for karaoke: Neil Diamond. Crowd pleasin', and requires very little range.

OMG I almost sang "Jolene" at karaoke tonight! I've actually never done karaoke and have a suspicion I'm a very bad singer, but the tiny country bar I was at tonight was very welcoming of bad singers. mr teeny dragged me away before I could get enough liquid courage in me.

kenan is otm, "sweet caroline" can really get the crowd going!

I've spent most of the weekend with several of my oldest and best friends, only one ILXer among them, and had a fantastic time except feeling a bit unwell around 3am today. I've only had three hours sleep, and I finally have the appointment supposedly to confirm my eye surgery tomorrow at 9.30. Early to bed tonight.

I met up with Lolita Corpus and a slew of friends yesterday at a free show just up the road. There was merriment and free food, yay!

I've totally being petering out re: karaoke these days. Too many mediocre songs in a row. Plus the selection at the place I usually go is wearing thin (I don't like to do songs more than once). There's a much better selection at another place in town, but it's a pizza joint that closes at midnight. After singing "Lady In Red" with a children's birthday party in front of me, I'm not going there again.

I love the karaoke, but I'm repeating myself now, and it's a bit wanky to actually learn new songs (NB I have done this a couple of times, sad me). Any suggestions?

Oh fuck this thread resurrected a previously blacked-out memory of drunken karaoking Prince's "Kiss" that I had hoped would remain blacked-out for all eternity, ugh.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 6 October 2003 14:52 (twenty-two years ago)

did you do a dance at the appropriate time?

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 6 October 2003 15:00 (twenty-two years ago)

We didn't do karaoke but we ended up in a weird German beer hall full of 60 year old men and people doing a maypole thing and creating a Star of David out of pine branches or something. Also Medieval Times where they give you no silverwear to eat your food. Then I went to New Rochelle by accident.
