Beyond the mundane, are there things you often find yourself thinking about?

jel -- (jel), Saturday, 4 October 2003 12:59 (twenty-one years ago)

yes - girls.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 4 October 2003 13:01 (twenty-one years ago)

and my career and my regrets and my health.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 4 October 2003 13:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes. I get little obsessions that take over my brain. Sometimes they go away shortly, sometimes they require action to banish them, and sometimes I think about them every day for the rest of my life.

kate (kate), Saturday, 4 October 2003 13:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah - usually the fact I'm rooning my health some way or another, or worrying that I have no talent in anything whatsoever.

The latter is, of late, a very loud noise in my head. I am honestly starting to feel as if I'm a genuinely middling to untalented writer, and it was the only thing I ever thought I was any good at, so that's left me feeling rather down.

Trayce (trayce), Saturday, 4 October 2003 13:09 (twenty-one years ago)

It can sometimes be hard to know exactly how often one thinks about a certain thing. There's a girl from school that I think about a lot, for example. I'm sure days go by without her entering my consciousness, but it's hard to say.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 4 October 2003 13:10 (twenty-one years ago)

1) Pants, am I wearing them.
&
2) Coffee is where?

the most peculiar for me is Patrick Swayze's "She's Like The Wind." it's usually the first song that pops in my mind when somebody says what are you thinking about or I hear a different annoying song. I think I'm cursed.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Saturday, 4 October 2003 15:55 (twenty-one years ago)

most common songs to pop into my head (very very frequently): stop me if you think that you've heard this one before, and william, it was really nothing. even if i haven't listened to the smiths for a while.

JuliaA (j_bdules), Saturday, 4 October 2003 16:30 (twenty-one years ago)

robin (robin), Sunday, 5 October 2003 01:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh bloody hell do I think about things on a constant basis, every day I'm alive, especially since... oh, since several things have happened, sure. So the answer would obviously be "yes", then.

Oh wait, you're actually wanting to know what it is that I think of? Yeah, like I'm going to spill that. There's only one person on ILX who knows what I think about daily, and I've entrusted her never to tell a soul. Good luck.... ;)

Many Coloured Halo (Dee the Lurker), Sunday, 5 October 2003 03:27 (twenty-one years ago)

beyond the mundane? i have no idea. my days are filled with really important concerns like ' has my son done a poo yet and if not why not/ do i have enough bread for today or do we need to get some more/ do i have enough petrol in the car to make it to the garage/ whats the time is it time to feed him again yet/ is the yard dry enough to go outside and let him run around or is it still full of huge clay puddles/ can i stand to listen to 'the wheels on the bus' one more time/ did i pay the kindy fees last week or do i have to pay today......

im sure that somewhere inbetween i do think some superb and mind-blowing thoughts about certain things on a daily basis, they just get lost in the mud along the way.
um.

clouds! if you had my view out the window you would be as fascinated as i have become.
also, god / lack of / belief or disbelief in supreme being / purpose of existence etc.

Powerbooks on Ebay: why are the ones I'm always ready to bid on the ones that get yanked before auction's close? (I guess this is a good thing, but still...)

Girolamo Savonarola, Sunday, 5 October 2003 05:58 (twenty-one years ago)

I constantly think about pulling my thumb out of my ass, getting some pieces of paper to show that I can code enormously complex apps, and get a cushy job in an ace worplace without politics and with slinky PAs wearing short skirts.

Oh well.

ha ha, yeah.

Yay! Whoo hoo! Hurrah!

Um, what I meant to say was, "Aw, poor dears, no need to be scared. 'Tis nothing to worry about, really. Just little maddening obsessions and whatnot that might be a bit personal to divulge amongst you lot."

Um, but it *is* kinda interesting, actually evoking that reaction. Wow. There certainly is a first time for everything....
