who was the first person you found sexually alluring on TV?

i can't remember if my feelings on Heather Locklear as Sammy Jo in TJ Hooker amounted to anything more than 'i'd like to marry her' and i'm not sure that counts, but i'll say her for now (at any rate by the time she turned up in Dynasty/The Colbys it was a surefire crush).

stevem (blueski), Saturday, 4 October 2003 13:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Not only have we had this thread I'm positive it was the same exact title! Moebius strip! Time becomes a loop!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 4 October 2003 13:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Not quite:

Who was the first person on you saw on TV that aroused you when you were young?

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 4 October 2003 13:42 (twenty-one years ago)

ha, i was going to say it was probably ME that started the previous thread and i'd forgotten, but i do remember having a conversation of this kind with Crooow/Chriddof. it's just another excuse to mention Heather Locklear in police uniform, argh, delete this thread and my sorry ass by all means

stevem (blueski), Saturday, 4 October 2003 13:43 (twenty-one years ago)

racquel welch on the muppet show

mamma mia

s1utsky (slutsky), Saturday, 4 October 2003 15:51 (twenty-one years ago)

It was either Madonna in the "Express Yourself" video (god that was rather affecting) or Heather Locklear in an episode of Going Places on the original year of TGIF on ABC. I'm pretty sure the Madonna video was the real "HELLO" moment. She was all nude under that sheet. Nude nude nude.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Saturday, 4 October 2003 15:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Yuck! Wasn't the Express Yourself phase where she had that horrid bleached slicked back hair? No thanks.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 4 October 2003 15:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman, no question about it.

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Saturday, 4 October 2003 16:07 (twenty-one years ago)

oh how I longed to be lassoed by her

jones (actual), Saturday, 4 October 2003 16:09 (twenty-one years ago)

It wasn't slicked back in all the scenes, N. For instance it hanged all around her face when she crawled soaking wet under the table and licked from the bowl of milk. It probably would have inspired voluntary (as well as the memorable involuntary) self-expression had I not been 9.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Saturday, 4 October 2003 16:17 (twenty-one years ago)

the "cherish" video was much hotter

Annouschka Magnatech (Jody Beth Rosen), Saturday, 4 October 2003 16:25 (twenty-one years ago)

I think that after the Monroe pastiche Material Girl video, I never really fancied Madonna again (except for maybe the wet dress in Cherish and the nice hair in the Like A Prayer). Trashy 80s looks never really did it for me. I'm sure she's heartbroken to discover this.

x-post re: Cherish video ha

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 4 October 2003 16:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Oooh... I loved her as a Brunette in "Like a Prayer."

See, I remember when the "Borderline" video first came out (yes, she was hot then).

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Saturday, 4 October 2003 16:30 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't know why I capitalized brunette.

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Saturday, 4 October 2003 16:30 (twenty-one years ago)

you were thinking of daisy duke

Haikunym (Haikunym), Saturday, 4 October 2003 16:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Did anyone else call up whatever radio station to request a song from time to time, and then be like--Oooh, i talked to the deejay! And he has such a sexy voice! *giggle* etc.

That was silly young me...

Really young, I always thought Alan Alda was cute on M*A*S*H. Even though he was a grownup.

JuliaA (j_bdules), Saturday, 4 October 2003 16:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I think Erin Gray as Wilma Derring in Buck Rogers was the first for me.

Wonder Woman or Julie Newmar as Catwoman. I'm not sure which I saw first.

Tep (ktepi), Saturday, 4 October 2003 20:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh and Batgirl, geez.

(This says more about what I was watching than any costume fetishes I might have.)

Tep (ktepi), Saturday, 4 October 2003 20:01 (twenty-one years ago)

the first one i can remember having a big crush on was darlene on roseanne. i liked pale girls with black hair when i was young.

Do cartoons count?

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Saturday, 4 October 2003 20:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm pretty sure my brother's answer is either She-Ra or that fem-robot with the breast-missiles, so yes.

Tep (ktepi), Saturday, 4 October 2003 20:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Another vote for Wonder Woman.

oops (Oops), Saturday, 4 October 2003 20:33 (twenty-one years ago)

What show had a fem-robot with breast-missiles? I need that on DVD.

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Saturday, 4 October 2003 20:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Hrm. I didn't watch it as much as he did, and he never remembers that kind of thing. Tran-Zor-Zee, maybe? It was definitely a Japanese robot cartoon (I guess that's obvious).

Tep (ktepi), Saturday, 4 October 2003 20:41 (twenty-one years ago)

My first glance of a Duran Duran video, 1991, VH1. "Hungry Like The Wolf". "Ooh, who's that boy with the big, pouty lips shaking his head no?" John Taylor -- ta-daaaaa. Instant crush, just add preteen hormones. Later on that hour, INXS's "Devil Inside" video -- first glance of an INXS video and first glance at "that glorious boy with the yummy hair". Michael Hutchence -- mmmm. My preteen giggly girl self was falling over with delight.

Haven't looked back ever since....

Catwoman or Batgirl, probably.

Solid Gold Dancers *really* flipped the switches, though, when I was a bit older.

Baked Bean Teeth (Baked Bean Teeth), Saturday, 4 October 2003 21:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Alyssa Milano (But Lynda Carter and Heather Locklear/Heather Thomas R HOTT as well.)

Soul Train dancers == hot pants.

Cathy Dennis on Top of the Pops was something of a sexual epiphany.

adaml (adaml), Saturday, 4 October 2003 21:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Cathy Dennis on Never Mind The Buzzcocks last year was also something of a sexual epiphany.

No shouts out for Leela, Nyssa or either version of Romana? I'm shocked! Shocked, I say!
(But not Sarah Jane Smith, Peri or Tegan. They were annoying.)

Obviously I can hardly be expected to remember back so far, but I think it might have been Julie Newmar - she is the earliest one I recall feeling that way about. Earliest man was Marc Bolan, but I didn't really understand that at the time.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Sunday, 5 October 2003 18:17 (twenty-one years ago)

It's a toss-up between Wonder Woman and Daisy Duke. I didn't understand why I liked looking at them, I just did.
