Help me........

So, er, yes. For nigh on four years now there has been a small imp on my shoulder cackling into my ears with glee, glee, such hideous glee, and all because I cannot find the existence of a film I once watched so late at night...

I'm half convinced that it was a film called Dr X, but I have looked on the IMDB and they only list 'The Return Of Dr X' so I cannot find out. It was an old film, I'm fairly sure of that, it certainly looked old, kind of horror type thing, with a crazed scientist (the afore-mentioned Dr X, I presume).

It had this ace bit where he was in the lab mixing his shit and stuff, and this bizarre early electronics was going off in the background with this haphazard 'Synthetic Flesh' monotone.

If anyone knows anything at all, please help me. I must find this before I implode...

Yr not thinking of 'Doctor Cyclops' (1939) are you? It was one of the first horror movies made in technicolor, and features Albert Dekker as a mad scientist who has discovered a way to shrink animals and humans.

1931: Dr X (w. Spencer Tracy and Lionel Atwill)
1936: The Return of Dr X (w. Humphrey Bogart)

Dr's X's arm and scarred face are made of synthetic flesh: electronica I find more puzzling, unless it was added later.

It could be The Dark Crystal

Hmm...there sorta was a scence like that, Mike, true. But the character was a Skeksis and not a Dr. X. ;-)

The mark s has it! Thank you kindly, now all I need to do is find a copy...

As for the 'electronica', well, it could just be me projecting that onto the memory, it was definitely very very crazy and wonderful music, but to be honest I wouldn't be that surprised if it was made with some kind of early electronics and the like...
