Just sayin', like . . . . . .

Those adverts are designed solely to fuck young children up immensely, right?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Saturday, 4 October 2003 22:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Bang on. Still, the acousticy major 7ths and the delivery are pure Nicky Mc Tricky.

Lynskey (Lynskey), Saturday, 4 October 2003 22:45 (twenty-two years ago)

two weeks pass...
a rat ta tat ta tat.

Jarlr'mai (jarlrmai), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 11:55 (twenty-two years ago)

IS IT MOMUS?!?!? IS IT?!??!

You're driving me nuts. I've asked this question three times, and no one has answered me.

kate (kate), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 11:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't think it is.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 11:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Doesn't sound like him to me, but you decide.

Billy Dods (Billy Dods), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 12:02 (twenty-two years ago)

WHERE'S. YOUR. SWITCH. AT?
WHERE'S YOUR SWITCH AT?
WHERE'S YOUR SWITCH AT?

Ricardo (RickyT), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 12:02 (twenty-two years ago)

But Ed said that it was, on the penguin thread...

kate (kate), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 12:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Its, Manhattan Transfer and Renee and Renato (they could be momus alter egos though)

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 12:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Hmmmmm. When the penguin speaks, it doesn't sound that much like him. (No slight but unmistakable Edinburgh burr.) But the singing is absolutely bang-on.

kate (kate), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 12:06 (twenty-two years ago)

...except it isn't. Nick's voice isn't that deep and strains when he tries to go that deep.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 12:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, but the whispering! The mincing! The whispering! The mincing! It's alarming!

kate (kate), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 12:27 (twenty-two years ago)

...very very frightening me!

It's way too baritone to be PROPER mincing and whispering a la Nick - however if by some *miracle* it is him, the fee is prob. fat enough to ask for owed-dinner upgrade to Hakkasan!

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 12:29 (twenty-two years ago)

edinburgh?

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 12:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Hakkasan not as cool as hämähäkki!

(This is my new favourite word)

(Are you making fun of my spelling, RJG?)

kate (kate), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 12:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Kate, you spelled correctly. I think RJG may not have known that Nick is from Edinburgh (and gets QUITE TESTY THANK YOU VERY MUCH when mistaken for Engrishman).

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 12:36 (twenty-two years ago)

not unless you're trying to spell paisley since that is what I had thought but now I am not sure why and give up.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 12:36 (twenty-two years ago)

crosspost, obviously.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 12:36 (twenty-two years ago)

haha, engrishman, though.

N. to thread.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 12:37 (twenty-two years ago)

...inasmuch as he was born in the hospital there, Nick is 'from' Paisley. But I think was brought up in the naice garden squares of Edinburgh New Town.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 12:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Is he still 30% Viking, or is that invalidated because Edinburgh was not a Viking settlement?

kate (kate), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 12:49 (twenty-two years ago)

From what I remember, all Nick's family come from the Highlands/Mull. He reckons Celt/Pict.

I am 25 per cent Gothenburg Viking.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 14:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Highlanders tend to have higher Viking content, as do natives of the Western Isles.

kate (kate), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 15:00 (twenty-two years ago)

He's not beefy enough to be a Viking.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 17:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't want to THINK about Momus's beef, thanks. There's a reason I didn't look at his website while the naked picture was up!

kate (kate), Thursday, 23 October 2003 06:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Kate, clearly you do - I was talking about build, not bits.

suzy (suzy), Thursday, 23 October 2003 07:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Does reading ILX give you a dirty mind?

kate (kate), Thursday, 23 October 2003 07:18 (twenty-two years ago)

***well, d'oh!***

suzy (suzy), Thursday, 23 October 2003 07:20 (twenty-two years ago)

hämähäkki!

I just wanted to say that again.

kate (kate), Thursday, 23 October 2003 07:23 (twenty-two years ago)
