Who was the guitarist in the dualing scene with Ralph Macchio in crossroads?

And what was the name of the pieces/sound tracks that they were dualing with?

Is he really a musician? What group has he played with?

Who made the sound track, Does it come on cd?

Yes, it was Steve Vai. There is a soundtrack, but it doesn't have the dual at the end, just Ry Cooder's stuff.
