The last hairstyle they gave Michelle Williams was brutal.

I have just started watching this show thanks to Netflix. I have seen most of season 1 (I missed probably four episodes, it did not seem to matter story-wise though). Thoughts:
1) the music replacements that Netflix has had to do are fucking terrible. I'm assuming that's what's going on and why all the music is so bad (I know they had to change the theme song, but the incidental music is all over the place)
2) does anything ever happen on this show that is not relationship based?
3) baggy fucking khakis are not a good look
4) If it's a take sides between Joey and Jen, obviously it's Joey, right? right???

Missing episodes absolutely not a problem plot-wise given every season is about 30 episodes long and they drag over the same emotional ground for literally years.
Hopefully not a spoiler here, but Jen is significantly under-written in season 1, so Joey is the obvious choice, but things are not so clear cut from thereon out.
Everything on the show will continue to be about relationships (and Steven Spielberg). It's the best show.

I don't know about the incidental music! Is it not all insipid classical guitar loops and the occasional burst of off-brand pop punk? Will have to rewatch.

Jen is much cooler and better than Joey.

as long as we all agree Andie is the worst. though I admit I'm biased because this show was on when I was in high school and my HS girlfriend basically WAS Andie.

Had to Google Gretchen lol
The Creek was weirdly realistic about the aging/growth of the protagonists, from basically being overgrown toddlers as high school freshman to ‘adults’ in a few years as they go to college.

also, rather taken aback by the glibness of Pacey and his HS teacher. It's funny watching this at the same time that A Teacher (with Kate Mara) is on FX, which is 100% exploitive trash but at least seems to recognize what is happening is not good
