Oh GOD! Erm, weirdly returning to a writer discussed w/ Mark last week, but is it 'The Cement Garden'? No, but close. Argh.
But to point out inconsistency, obv the narrator found out... unless it was written by the brother.

Enrique (Enrique), Wednesday, 8 October 2003 12:18 (twenty-two years ago)

no, no the title = same as that of a famous film (the cement garden is an actual film of a vaguely similar story (the mum dies of natural causes tho)

we are watching so we know, it doesn't have a narrator as the iron law of film = narrator = unreliable narrator

BRINGING UP BABY!

(in mine he in fact goes on to be a famous a 19th-century CHILDREN'S writer and she often collaborates w.him) (also apparently she stabbed their dad)

s1utsky (slutsky), Wednesday, 8 October 2003 13:02 (twenty-two years ago)

silence of the lambs is CORRECT!
igby goes down is INCORRECT!

all films have an implied narrative pov, sure (if they don't have more than one) — but plenty of films don't have an actual narrator-as-character, in the sense that events occur which only the people involved know about and others may or may not discover, inspector frost doesn't haul the cameraman from behind the camera for grilling
