Her Rainyness, good and glorious soul that she is, wanted me to upload this very fine photogram she did. So here we go...

Ned Raggett, Sunday, 30 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Christ that is beutiful. The problem w. most photograms is people put too much sit in them. Yours is a great example of evonomy. It is elegant and rigid in its forms. I want a copy.

anthony, Sunday, 30 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

thank you Ned.

Ahem. I like stationary very much. I particularly enjoy cutting things up and sticking them together, so stationary and office supplies come in handy. Stapling things is good until you run out of staples, and when this happens glue is (although not always) a good replacement. I particularly enjoy PVA glue, which has a nice smoothness and viscosity. PVA when used in conjunction with glitter has a pleasing effect and may be used to create novelty cards for the family member or friend of your choice.

rainy, Sunday, 30 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

why Anthony how nice of you to say, if you would like to own it, send me your postal address and I shall send it to you tomorrow.

rainy, Sunday, 30 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I don't use much in the way of formal stationery anymore, since I mostly use e-mail to get in contact with folks. I had various monogrammed stationery sets when I was a kid, they were fun! :-) My mom makes up for my on-line existence by creating her own cards and envelopes, and they're quite lovely, nice hard paper and the like.

Japanese littel girls are the conesiuers of stationary. just look at Afro Ken

Mike Hanle y, Sunday, 30 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

anthony, Sunday, 30 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

jel, Sunday, 30 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

My dad's got some really nice photograms he did somewhere around here. I'll try and scan them in soon.

Mitch Lastnamewithheld, Sunday, 30 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

It is lovely, Rainy.

Maria, Sunday, 30 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

very nice indeed. :)

but you don't want to get me started on stationary... (::begins sobbing uncontrolably and inconsolably as he reflects on five years lost to the corporate maw that is office supply retail::)

jess, Sunday, 30 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Wow, Rainy! I did a pictogram of a Scissors once, too. It was stolen...

thanks you guys, I wish you could all come to my next photogram workshop, which is next Saturday at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery. I bet you could make even better ones than mine.

Hello 11235! Cryptic message, is everything okay?

rainy, Sunday, 30 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 26 June 2004 22:27 (twenty-one years ago)

I did a photogram once, my art teacher thought it was so amazing I should be going for first in the class or something. I think he was high.

I miss Rainy.

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 10 June 2005 19:17 (twenty years ago)

You are not alone, but she is doing well by all accounts. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 10 June 2005 19:18 (twenty years ago)

This thread is so funny, oh the times we had! Of course it's all different these days - for example, I can spell "stationery" now.

rainy (rainy), Saturday, 11 June 2005 10:59 (twenty years ago)

hi rainy.

no-one knows, I guess.

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 11 June 2005 23:03 (twenty years ago)

teeny (teeny), Saturday, 11 June 2005 23:05 (twenty years ago)

Hi Cozen, I'm unsure what 'mead five star' means

rainy (rainy), Saturday, 11 June 2005 23:11 (twenty years ago)

this magazine store near me was selling moleskines for outrageously cheap for a couple of months but then i guess they caught on and now they're back to the stupid expensive normal prices!!

s1ocki (slutsky), Wednesday, 12 October 2005 21:46 (twenty years ago)

how can i go ON!?!?!

Has anyone else noticed how strangely satisfying it is to empty a full-up hole punch. It's similar to when you get a really long pencil shaving, a small glory!

jel --, Monday, 5 March 2007 18:21 (eighteen years ago)

Those Moleskine notebooks suck so much ass, though! I mean, fine, you look very old-world, maybe they go nicely with your driving gloves and bowler hat, but I've had nothing but bad luck with them as notebooks, especially at that price.

nabisco, Monday, 5 March 2007 18:24 (eighteen years ago)

I'm using a reporter-style one to write all my recipes and permutations in - works better than the normal bound-down-the-side sort. They are not the thing to use if you need to tear a sheet out though.

Jaq, Monday, 5 March 2007 18:28 (eighteen years ago)

I could never have a mole killed for stationery vanity.

does anyone have a particularly nice pencil case to recommend? the canvas/w/e kind, rather than metal boxes
