Kenan Hebert (kenan), Friday, 10 October 2003 09:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Exercise.

No, wait. JAZZERCISE!

oops (Oops), Friday, 10 October 2003 09:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Go for a really long walk. Preferably with a walkman to keep your mind occupied with the music. Leave yer mobile at home!

kate (kate), Friday, 10 October 2003 09:04 (twenty-one years ago)

i was just thinking i'd wait for the sun to come up (another hour?) and walk over the brooklyn bridge, then maybe find some greasy diner w/ really strong coffee.

Annouschka Magnatech (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 10 October 2003 09:05 (twenty-one years ago)

You shouldn't have to walk too far to find that.

I still say you should make a mix. Here, lemme start you off:

1. Blackalicious - Swan Lake

A mix requires better concentration skills than I have right now! Anyway I'm more in an albums mood than a songs mood.

In my experience, the only thing that works is exercise. It's a pain in the ass, I find, and often really hard to get motivated to do, but it is the only thing I've found that works. Swimming and cycling work especially well. Bonus advantage of cycling (writes mr not at all biased o no) = nearly free transport.

Spoken like someone who knows how to make a mix. I want a Jody mix.

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Friday, 10 October 2003 09:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Like walking isn't free transport! And free transport for those of us with really poor balance who are crap at cycling!

kate (kate), Friday, 10 October 2003 09:14 (twenty-one years ago)

I have a deep distrust of anyone who rides a bicycle in New York City. I've posted about this before, and I've been nearly killed by lawless bicyclists several times since then.

Annouschka Magnatech (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 10 October 2003 09:20 (twenty-one years ago)

It's weird, in London, bicyclists are either total maniacal lawless anarcho-couriers, or else they're slightly timid twee f*cks. It's really odd!

kate (kate), Friday, 10 October 2003 09:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Try living in Cambridge!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 10 October 2003 09:26 (twenty-one years ago)

it's different up here (ne england) I've heard about assholist cycle couriers in london before. you don't have to behave like that though! (nb swimming is good as well)

Pashmina (Pashmina), Friday, 10 October 2003 09:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Ask Stereolab about cyclists in London, and see who they think are the assholes.

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Friday, 10 October 2003 09:46 (twenty-one years ago)

develop an obsession-compulsion

freedom dupont, Friday, 10 October 2003 09:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I just came back from *trying* to go to the citizen's advice bureau and saw that on nice new tarmacced road, there is a memorial to a dead cycle courier stencilled in brightest yellow paint.
