I vote for the latter.

The only tragedy really in a victimless crime like painkiller addiction is that now he has to stop using them. He's probably a much worse bigot, fool, etc. when not on "happy pills".

Now I understand why it seemed like he never listened to people; HE WAS DEAF FROM OXYCONTIN ABUSE.

Kingfish (Kingfish), Saturday, 11 October 2003 02:38 (twenty-one years ago)

no wait, you guys, don't you see? it's okay to be addicted to drugs (/gambling/sex/etc) as long as you are rich and white and constantly demeaning those who are browner than you and poorer than you who get into the same scrapes, but don't have the same safety nets that you do so you can quietly clean things up and look like a hero in the process.

hell, if anything, it's the NEW AMERICAN WAY! man i can't wait for loyalty day, gotta shine my boots

I think that Rush isn't so much addicted to pain killers as he is to hating blacks and Jews.

I think that that was the most repulsive thing I've ever commited to.. cyber stuff.

Oh well, at least I got to say the phrase "blacks and Jews".

I shouldn't ever drink scotch again.

Helltime Producto (Pavlik), Saturday, 11 October 2003 04:59 (twenty-one years ago)

I just realized... it would be funny if, when he gets clean, he turns into a bleeding heart liberal since it was the meds talking all along.

"When you strip it all away, Jerry Garcia destroyed his life on drugs. And yet he's being honored, like some godlike figure. Our priorities are out of whack, folks." - Rush Limbaugh

What's all this boo-hooing from the right about how the media is ganging up on Rush? Drudge was on this kick last night on the radio.

Most appropriate phrase here: "Live by the gun, die by the gun."

Rush has made himself a very controversial and rich celebrity by throwing rocks at public figures and feigning moral authority. I find it very fitting that he's being hanged by the media. It's about time too, considering all of his past hypocrises that have been exposed before.

I used to have an ultra-conservative, puritanic friend who I always suspected was two or three margaritas from being gay. I also suspect Rush Limbaugh is one or two epiphanies from joining the Green party. He's probably borderline schizophrenic what with burying his inner compassion for so long.

dleone (dleone), Monday, 13 October 2003 15:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Did anyone notice how when he finally admitted his addiction, he kept stressing he was addicted to prescription drugs as though it somehow excused it?

Nicolars (Nicole), Monday, 13 October 2003 15:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, pretty lame. *My drug addiction isn't that bad because it's an upper-class kind of drug addiction.*

hillbilly heroin nonetheless.

Dale the Titled (cprek), Monday, 13 October 2003 16:35 (twenty-one years ago)

teeny (teeny), Monday, 13 October 2003 16:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Future Trivial Pursuit question (must work on wording): "What do Jack Osbourne and Rush Limbaugh have in common?"

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 13 October 2003 17:50 (twenty-one years ago)

dleone (dleone), Monday, 13 October 2003 18:01 (twenty-one years ago)

They were/are both addicted to oxycontin.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 13 October 2003 18:08 (twenty-one years ago)

I debated the question mark.

dleone (dleone), Monday, 13 October 2003 18:20 (twenty-one years ago)

I so would not have been the last comic standing.
