haven't we asked this before? 3 or 4 times and I switch.

A Girl Named Sam (thatgirl), Saturday, 11 October 2003 17:38 (twenty-one years ago)

docker/cargo pants -- 2 days

black denim -- more, if need be

Kingfish (Kingfish), Saturday, 11 October 2003 18:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Why change so often? At least for me they don't get very dirty
and you can't really see anydifference after only a few days can you?

I wear the same for two/three weeks.

Curious Pants-, Saturday, 11 October 2003 18:15 (twenty-one years ago)

b/c after 2-3 days, odds are that i've worn them to the bar, and they're soaked in smoke/beer/godknowswhat...

Kingfish (Kingfish), Saturday, 11 October 2003 18:28 (twenty-one years ago)

i have to say that's one of the advantages of the smokefree bar rule -- longer between-washings life.

maura (maura), Saturday, 11 October 2003 18:47 (twenty-one years ago)

This thread could take on a whole new meaning once us UK types get involved...

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 11 October 2003 18:52 (twenty-one years ago)

I have basically two pairs of pants. They are both black slacks. I alternate (not strictly) between them for a while, until laundry day. It goes for about 2 weeks or so.

Chris P (Chris P), Saturday, 11 October 2003 18:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I have fourteen or so pairs of trousers but I don't wear them quite equally and I don't wear them more than twice between washing but, often, only once.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 11 October 2003 18:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Usually about 2 or 3 days. I don't really keep track though. I do laundry when I run out of underwear or shirts, and will throw in as many pairs of pants as I can with them.

oops (Oops), Saturday, 11 October 2003 19:15 (twenty-one years ago)

About three days is my maximum, as well.

I think I have five pairs of trousers, total. Usually I'll have to wash about three of them at the end of the week, along with a pair of jeans (I have two pairs of jeans).

Many Coloured Halo (Dee the Lurker), Saturday, 11 October 2003 21:28 (twenty-one years ago)

are we talking pants as in kecks or pants as in trousers?

DV (dirtyvicar), Saturday, 11 October 2003 22:20 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought kecks were trousers.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 11 October 2003 22:22 (twenty-one years ago)

i have three pairs of pinstripe suit pants. they follow the three day rule, unless i get food on them, which happens as i am a clumsy eater. my dresses (all 40+ of them) also follow these rules.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Saturday, 11 October 2003 22:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Jeans/Trousers - a week or so.

jel -- (jel), Sunday, 12 October 2003 15:41 (twenty-one years ago)

i often change my clothes during the day if the weather changes or i need to look nice or something, so i have absolutely no estimate of how long i actually wear them. usually only once for khakis because they wrinkle so much, jeans an incredibly long time, and black pants in between.

Maria (Maria), Monday, 13 October 2003 04:25 (twenty-one years ago)

I read the thread title and went "Ewww! ewwww! eeeewwwww!" and then realised that it was posted by an American.

Trousers? One day, tops. Unless they're jeans and I didn't wear them for the whole day.

When I was on tour, that whole thing used to go out the window, and I'd wear trousers as long as I had Fabreeze.

Pants as in pants? Sometimes I'll wear two pairs over the course of one day if I'm feeling particularly icky.

kate (kate), Monday, 13 October 2003 10:15 (twenty-one years ago)

I guess you mean trousers right? About a week for jeans & 3 or 4 days if it's trousers. Depends what I've been doing in a top as to how often I change it.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 13 October 2003 10:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Perhaps I am oversensitive to my own smell.

Or perhaps I just walk a lot more than most people do, so I get a lot more sweaty.

Am I a freak?

kate (kate), Monday, 13 October 2003 10:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Erm, no, maybe you just have too many clothes & love doing laundry!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 13 October 2003 10:24 (twenty-one years ago)

I hate wearing trousers more than once but lack of abundant money/wardrobe space/laundry time means I have to wear my work trousers for 2 days each and I was still unsure if that was ok, until I read this thread....

smee (smee), Monday, 13 October 2003 10:28 (twenty-one years ago)

oh yeah, you're definitely fine!!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 13 October 2003 10:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Nice try at turning this into a US v UK thing, Kate.

oops (Oops), Monday, 13 October 2003 19:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Weeks. Several, several weeks.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Monday, 13 October 2003 19:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Though I do tend to alternate trousers at least once or twice a week.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Monday, 13 October 2003 19:57 (twenty-one years ago)

i thought it was about knickers too and thought 'oh dear God, how awful.'

I am clearly scum. I wash my jeans about once or twice every two months. My one pair of cords - about once a month. Pinstripe trousers about once every three months.

Then again, I usually wear skirts or dresses.

Anna (Anna), Monday, 13 October 2003 20:05 (twenty-one years ago)

some pants i will not wash for months/years, and even then only take to an insured dry cleaner i trust.

gygax! (gygax!), Monday, 13 October 2003 20:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Actually, I was talking about underwear.

, Monday, 13 October 2003 20:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Three days, non-consecutive.

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Monday, 13 October 2003 20:24 (twenty-one years ago)

I used to wear my jeans about 3 nights a week and almost the entire weekend. I avoided washing them as long as I could so as not to wear them down too much. Then last week, I spilled coffee all over them and had to wash them. The next time I wore them, I bent down to pick something up and riiiip! went the knee.
So now I need new jeans. And I HATE shopping, esp. for clothes.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Tuesday, 14 October 2003 14:57 (twenty-one years ago)
