Naming Your Own Video Game Character

For you few gamers out there, what do you tend to name your character, when given the chance?

I always get a kick out of the beating the Bad Guy, and then the Princess tells me, "Thank you, Beavis, you have saved the land of Hyrule forever!" or somesuch.

any other decent naming schemes? Would Final Fantasy be more fun if you could name all the characters after spanish curse words?

I had a really wussy, good-for-nothing Pokemon I renamed Pussy, which meant every battle gave me PUSSY IS CAUSING AN UPROAR as a message.

Right now I'm naming them all after characters from my vampire story.

And the first time I played Bard's Tale, back on the Amiga, I named everyone after fruit -- cause the friends who had the game were the same friends who'd clandestinely played my first D&D game with me (I wasn't allowed to play D&D), and that's what their characters were named after. Blackberry and Apple kicked frickin ass.

My Sims characters were usually named for comic strip characters.

I once had this really primitive text-based boxing game on my dad's PC. You named the boxers, adjusted their stats, and then the PC would simulate a boxing match around that. What I used to do was to name both the boxers "Mike Tyson" or whoever, giving the highly entertaining spectacle of a boxer fighting himself.

I name all my video game characters after members of the Wu Tang.

When I played Earthbound as a child I named Paula after my brother.

hey Chriddof, i had that game too! i can't remember if i did the naming thing tho. probably, it was a ridiculously boring game, you had to take what you could get.

I just generally name them obscenities. I've had whole FF parties with nothing but FART, POOP, COCK, and NUTS. I'm very clever and mature.

yeah, the NES Ultima game only allowed for names of 4 letters.

Wasn't that hard to come up with a naming scheme for them..
